UPDATED: APR 25, 2006 [bottle] Pours a dark brown color- tastes pretty malty. Dark malts, some light fruits. Moderately sweet- full mouthfeel. Enjoyable, for sure. Nothing too exciting, however.

Bottle. Ruby body with a small tan head. Nose is fruity (berries, light apple, hint of cherry), malt, and light wood. Light flowery note as well. Taste is malty and sweet with a dulled fruit flavor - sort of like unsweetened apple chips. Light cocoa, flowers, and some toasty notes. Body is medium with a dense carbonation. Finishes with more fruit notes, cocoa, toasty malts, light caramel and a bit of wood. Kinz (3786) - Glen Allen, Virginia, USA - MAR 8, 2006
Brown with ruby highlights, quite clear, decent head faded fast. Aroma was a bit roasty, with a touch of apple and sulfur. Flavor matched the aroma, and some chocolate notes came through as well. Struck me more as a bitter than a strong ale. Perhaps it is better on cask.

Pours a dark, coppery brown with a very nice, frothy head that diminishes quickly, but not entirely. The taste is malty, but doesn’t finish entirely clean. Very smooth, though, & enjoyable. Lunkie (1965) - Glen Iris, AUSTRALIA - FEB 25, 2006
Sweet malt hop aroma with flowers. Clear dark brown colour with good to fair head and lacing. Sweet malt flavour with flowers. Smooth palate. thegreenrooster (4626) - St.louis, Missouri, USA - FEB 18, 2006
Pour is a ruby red with no head. Aroma is malty and dark fruit like a plum. Flavor is malty and strong. Lots of dark fruits and stong hops make this beer one to look for. Strange name but lots of flavor make this one to find. onystrom (1334) - Magellan Hunter! - Skanderborg, DENMARK - FEB 12, 2006
Beautiful clear red amber color with great head. Hoppy and slightly bitter aftertaste. Avarage. saxo (19569) - Højbjerg, Aarhus, DENMARK - FEB 11, 2006
Bottled. Chestnut red low head and condition. Fruity raisin nose with a roast barley hint. Fruitcake and toast in the mouth and a swet malty finish. Doesnt seem as strong as the abv suggests.
