Bottle. Clear dark toffee with a good coat of beige head. Very fruity aroma with some cocoa and toffee, nutty Sherry. Slightly oily body. Sweet dried fruit and toffee, dry woody finish. First few sips I was thinking around 2.5 but this really grew on me as I drank it. Gets no favours from being bottled. DruncanVeasey (8326) - Nr NUNEATON, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - FEB 15, 2011

50 cl bottle, Sheffield, UK. Slightly ruby hued amber, tan head. Sweet toffee and spice aroma. Balanced flavour, initially sweet with a clove spiced finish. Aurelius (5590) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - AUG 6, 2010
Clear, medium-dark ruby red-brown with an almost white head, good UK pint bottle. Hated the stupid monkey on the label. A great bitter aroma. Sweet, not heavily bittered, raisiny-vinous notes. Bitterness kicks in during the finish. Medium to medium-light body. Bitter ale, light cereal, prunes in the finish. Chan’s Wine World, Panama City Beach, FL. topherh (1929) - Kearney, Missouri, USA - MAY 18, 2010
Pours a dark amber with an off white head. Aroma is rich malt, caramel, and raisin. Flavor is lightly roasty, caramel, apple, and a bit of hoppy bitterness. drpimento (3798) - La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 18, 2010
Decent beer. Poured with a tan head that quickly settled down and no lace. Color is a lovely clear medium red amber. Aroma is very malty roast toffee and a hint fruity. Flavor is like aroma. Body is ok and so is carbonation. Finish is like flavor and medium in length. Serviceable beer. If you were in the mood for a straightforward malty ale this could be a session.
