It poured a very dark amber liquid with a small foam. It had a smell of caramell and malt. It tasted malty and caramell with some sweetness. It also had a slight alcoholic finish. It was a bit dry but easy to drink and a bit boring.

Bottle. Pours very dark brown. Aroma and taste is malty and has some wood. Also some hops in the aroma. The malt is litte to burnt and the finish is to dry and harsh.

BeerGestapo (754) - Mt.Joy, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 16, 2009
Brewed in England....... 4th of July bash. Pours a copper color with zero head. Aroma of caramel, malts and candy. The taste is also of malts, caramel and a hint of fruit. The mouthfeel is mild, kind of thin with a bitter/sweet finish. Not bad, but not exciting either.

Odde (308) - Tampa, Florida, USA - OCT 19, 2009
Flat carbonation. Carmel and malt aromatics. Too thin and passive. This isn’t something I’d return to.

How many dirty stinking apes does it take to throw a wrench in a bitter ale? Notes of chocolate and coffee, also looks like strong coffee. Nuts and raisins as well. Sweet flavor with caramel aftertaste. Very smooth, full bodied, and easy drinking. Needs more hopping, really more like a mild ale.

sonnycheeba (5988) - Federal Hill, Baltimore, Maryland, USA - FEB 9, 2013
Bottle. Pours dark brown with thin, creamy off-white head; short retention and minimal lacing. Aroma is cereal malt, old attic woody notes, bandaid, plastic, dark fruit, and faint floral hops. Flavor is bready malts forward with some faint floral hops, some dark fruit esters, funk, and old wood; dry finish. Medium body and low carbonation.

Cask at the CAMRA York Beer and Cider Festival, 21.9.2013. Clear dark ruby with white film. Fruit juice, synthetic grape juice aroma, tastes a little sweet, ripe fruit. Light body, slightly bitter finish.
