Bottled - pasteurised. Occasionally available in the cask.
Deep amber in color with a fruity aroma which brings a complex mix of malts and mainly English hops including Fuggles and Northdown. With a hint of barley wine, it is ideal to accompany food.

Pernille (518) - Copenhagen, - JUL 30, 2005
Aroma made me squinch. Thin, skunky flavor. Bitter, but unpleasant. Okay lacing though.

shrubber85 (11322) - Greenville, Indiana, USA - MAY 17, 2017
Bottle. Toffee malt, cardboard, and hay aroma. Hazy amber with small head. Moderately sweet toffee malt, black pepper, paper, and mildly bitter grass/hay flavor. Good body. Tried to discount the oxidation - still pretty nice.

Bottle. Clear golden pour, small white head. Not much nose, crisp malty taste, with a slightly sour finish. Decent, but not impressive. Medium body, average carbonation.

bottle @ Sergio’s / Louisville KY --- Hazy very dark amber color, thin beige head cover, streaks and globs of lace. Aroma of malt and candied fruit. Taste is malt and fruit cake fruit that shows a strong alcohol overtone on the swallow (which is odd considering the low abv), becoming slightly more bitter, then showing malt again in a short finish. Drinkable, but not attractive to me.

Danev76 (505) - AUSTRALIA - AUG 12, 2014
Fruity aroma. Deep copper colour with good head. Strong malt up front with smooth citrus finish. Medium to heavy body with low carbonation.

2.9
ManVsBeer (10240) - Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire, ENGLAND - JUL 24, 2014
Bottle from Booths, Media City. Clear amber with a small head. With an initial tangy fizz in the palate it has a mix of fruits and caramel sweetness followed by a bitterness. Fairly complex like the description suggests.

2.8
Holmen2 (3567) - NORWAY - MAY 18, 2014

500ml bottle. Pours small white head. Aroma of tropical fruit, with biscuit also present. Complex. Colour copper. Taste is dark fruit, plums with some mildly sweet vanilla in there too. Not particularly malty but pronounced hoppy notes in the bitter finish. Enjoyed this one. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
