(bottle) hazy deep amber colour with a creamy light-beige head. aroma of raisins, cactus juice and yeast, rather sugary and belgian, with a hint of cherry schnaps and doughnut peaches. flavour is more of the same, lots of cherries and caramelized grain, with a light old woodiness, some bubble gum and a semi-tannic finish. medium- to heavy-bodied with average carbonation. good stuff!

From 0.33 L bottle; pours cloudy, dark amber to brown colored with a white head. Sweet aroma, dried fruit, medium malty. Taste is slightly toasty, medium sweet, slightly bitter, dark fruits. Medium body, soft carbonation. Interesting!

Bottle from Craft Beer Store, Hamburg. Hazy amber brown with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel and dark fruit. Flavor is quite sweet and light bitter. Sweet and light bitter finish with light sour hints. 050517

Sampled at BKL2017. Hazy red, offwhite lace. Grainy nose. Leafy notes, berry . Medium body, fruity base, dates, berries. Leafy dry bitterness, a bit minerally, berry finish.

Ascelja (1484) - Neratovice, CZECH REPUBLIC - FEB 18, 2017
Bottle. Hazy ochre to brown body, medium white head. Aroma of honey, nuts, dates, spices, malts, must, figs, flowers. Taste is neutral with slightly sweet finish, spurish aftertaste. Honey, nuts, ripe fruits, figs, dates, malty. Medium to full body, moderately carbonated.
Unusual and very good.

Rotin (1491) - Neratovice, CZECH REPUBLIC - FEB 17, 2017
Bottle 0.33l. Hazy, amber colored. AROMA- apple must, honey, dates, touch of cinnamon. FLAVOR- slightly sweet, slightly sour, lightly bitter, malty, must and dates, caramel. Fuller bodied.

Ritzn (1380) - GERMANY - FEB 15, 2017
Copper with medium beige head. Aroma is marzipan, caramel, honey. Taste is harsh bitter wood, sweet caramel. Medium drinkability. Ok.

UPDATED: JAN 24, 2017 on tap at the source. looks like an old ale, with reddish hamogoney colour. a bit sour off flavours for the style.
