Bottled. A nut-brown beer with a lazing beige head. The aroma has notes of peated whiskey, malt, and wood. The flavor is sweet with peated whiskey, wood, caramel, and malt, leading to a dry whiskey finish. Thanks fiulijn for sharing.

Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of fiulijn. Pours a clear dark orangey brown with a beige head. Nose has caramel, iodine and distinct peat - with a whiff of butter. Medium body, dry caramel notes and again loads of peat, tar and iodine. Ends dry and ashy with a subdued bitterness. Not the worst peaty beer. 260911

Bottle from Au Grain d’Orge, Crissier, Switzerland
Dark brown color; medium sized creamy head. The aroma from the peaty whisky is moderate, delicate, not overwhelming. The underlying Brown Ale has a quite ordinary caramel flavor that edges on the dry and dusty side; but it’s well complemented by a moderate smoked whisky flavor; there is also some chocolate and very light roasted malts.
The final is correctly bitter, with light roasted nuts and light whisky.
Pleasant, it gives a better statement than the Special Reserve 43, but it’s less seducing than the Special Reserve 21, also because of the different original cask used.

Se at "kom igang" med den backlog istedet, Ivan!
Bottle @ Ulfborg Mid March Tasting, 2012. Pours dark brown with a small creamy head. Nose is ashy and smokey. Peat and caramel. Medium and smooth body. Rough and rugged. Too peaty and one dimensional for my liking.
