Bov (13221) - Bienne, SWITZERLAND - JUN 16, 2011
from Au Grain d’Orge, Neuchâtel - slightly hazy brown colour with a little persistent beige foam; more pronounced smokiness than in the 20 y.o. version, chestnuts and sherrys show up; medium-bodied and with a velvety palate, low bitterness; long whisky-like finish with notes of caramel and wood - superb

fiulijn (21022) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUL 13, 2011
Bottle from Au Grain d’Orge, Crissier, Switzerland
Dark brown color; generous creamy head. The delicate peaty whisky aroma is just slightly stronger than the Special Reserve 20; mild campfire wood too, and very light vanilla and banana.
The underlying Brown Ale has the same caramel flavor as in the other versions, but it seems a bit sweeter here; the smoked whisky character is moderate (as in the other beers of the series), but pleasantly well integrated in this beer, and it gives a light salty character.
The final has some caramel, chocolate, smoke, and also light vanilla (indeed this is a different wood than the Special reserve 20).
Pleasant, balanced, the most interesting of the set.

Clear brown color, yellow to tan head. Sweet, malty, lactic, wood scent. Sweet, alcohol, wood taste. Smooth mouthfeel, low bitterness. Whisky aftertaste.

omhper (25570) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - OCT 18, 2011
Bottled, thanks Bov! Clear dark brown, small head, Aroma of coffee and bourbon. Medium bodied with rounded mouthfeel. Lots of oak and vanilla, rather intense smoky islay whisky, Still it manages to stay balanced. The best I’ve tried in the series so far.

yespr (47115) - Copenhagen O, DENMARK - FEB 23, 2012

Embrouille (2854) - SWITZERLAND - OCT 31, 2011
Bottled 33cl. Ordered from www.erzbierschof.ch. It pours a murky brown beer with a quick diminishing light beige head which leaves a slight spotty bubbly lace. Chestnuts and vanilla throughout. Sourish. Light to medium bodied. Nice balance. Practically no carbonation. Dry finish which is smoky.

Pinball (12260) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - FEB 23, 2012
clear amber, smzll white head. Aroma is peat smoke, roasted malts, wood. Nice. Flavor is flowery, malty, roasted malty,

Christian (13809) - Odense, DENMARK - MAR 16, 2012
Ulfborg Scooper Smagning 2012. Copper with a lasting off-white head. Aroma of caramel, dried fruit, mild peat smoke and a hint of cherry. Sweetish fruity flavour with caramel notes, some whisky character and peat smoke - reasonably well balanced for a peat smoke beer
