7/24/04. Poured out of 22 oz. bottle, sampled at San Diego Barley Wine Tasting courtesy of SDbruboy 7/24/04. Pours an extremely dark brown-red with orange outline. Looks badass. Big, fittingly badass filthy bitter with strong twiggy flavors. Very silky mouthfeel, almost syrupy, and huge, bold flavor. Extreme stuff, and I quite like the ass kick that it delivers. Finish is long and dangerous. Bold and round, still big and go for a long, long time. Chewy, chocolatey, nasty, and lovely. Would love to age this one for several years. Very complex and potent stuff. Damn good barley wine. Inveigler (371) - Ferndale, Michigan, USA - DEC 10, 2005
Truly a very nice representative of this style. The cloying malt, the oh so bitter hop counterpoint. The trademark flavors: toffee, citrus, raisins, dates. The alcohol is evident but not conspicuous. A very easy drinking big beer. Brad (363) - Berkley, Michigan, USA - AUG 22, 2005
Bomber: Beautiful looking brown/amber with a lasting somewhat rocky head. Aromas of sweet malts caramel, toffee with hints of raisens and other dark fruits. Flavor is yeast and malt back boned with the sweeter flavors up front. Heavy mouthfeel, finishes with candy notes and alcohol. proc (342) - Dearborn, Michigan, USA - AUG 22, 2003
This is a monster of a beer. Rich, flavorful and warming. I drank this on a warm day and still enjoyed it, but it would be better enjoyed on a cold, winter's day. Pours out to a dark ruby in the glass. Aroma is that of raisins, plums and fruit in general. Taste is explosive, but not overwhelming. Malt, hops and even a slight hint of licorice present. A very good beer.

Bottle. Pours a hazy dark amber color with a small off-white head. Aroma of over ripe fruits, caramel and roasted malt. Taste of raisins, dates, hops and light alcohol. Finish is warming and flavorful. Very nicely done barleywine!

Pours a nice head that’s surprising considering the alcohol content. Huge aromas of kettle caramelization, cream sherry and old vine zin. Flavour much of the same with a bit of bitterness and fusel on the finish. Intense amount of caramel and sticky sweet candied fruit. Quite a bit of viscosity here. Half the bottle would’ve been more than enough for myself. Just a bit young and I’m sure this improves greatly with age. lampeno420 (320) - Zeeland, Michigan, USA - SEP 8, 2007
wow. never would’ve guessed this was 15%. nice and thick flavored barely wine, but not hot at all. zapprentice (316) - East Setauket, New York, USA - JUL 15, 2009
Aroma of fruits, not citrus. Flavor is of sweet malt and fruits with some caramel. Nice beer jeffwilliams11 (310) - hooterville, Michigan, USA - JUN 7, 2008
