3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, Winter 2012 bottling. Pours cloudy almost opaque dark reddish brown color with a small light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of big caramel, raisin, dark bread, brown sugar, toffee, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, clove, earth, roasted malt, chocolate, and light herbal. Damn nice aromas with good balance and complexity of malt and spice notes. Taste of big caramel, brown sugar, molasses, raisin, dark bread, cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, roasted malt, chocolate, toast, prune, earth, and light herbal spiciness. No bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, dark fruit, dark bread, brown sugar, molasses, cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, roasted malt, chocolate, and herbal earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice balance and complexity of robust flavors; with a nice malt backbone over the spices; and almost zero cloying flavors present after the finish. Light-medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a creamy and slick mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a very nice winter warmer style. Very nice robust and balanced flavors; and very smooth to sip on. A very enjoyable offering.
From the tap at FOB, Rimini, Italy. Pours dark brown, almost black, with cream colored foam, fine. Aroma is caramel and malty. Body is fairly dense with medium carbonation, tongue-touching. Taste is pretty sweet, with a moderate bitterness. Finish is long and sweet. mjs (7768) - Helsinki, FINLAND - JAN 6, 2018
(Keg at Sori Taproom, 20180106) The beer poured deep reddish brown and clear. Its head was medium sized and nearly white. Aroma had malts, caramel and berries. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were malts, berries, caramel, tartness and bitterness. Aftertaste had berries, tartness and bitterness. A bit messy brew. I failed to understand why this was brewed. piraat83 (37) - Rochester Hills, Michigan, USA - DEC 25, 2017
UPDATED: DEC 25, 2017 Pours a reddish black with a muddy white head. Malty with a heavy nutmeg/cinnamon spice flavor. Like biting into a boozy gingerbread house. What else would you want from a Christmas Ale? jookos (7155) - FINLAND - DEC 16, 2017

GregMooreNH (247) - Bedford, New Hampshire, USA - OCT 28, 2017
Pours a dark chestnut color with a 2 finger head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is candied fruit and nutmeg. Taste is initially cinnamon with fruit and hoppy finish. A solid winter warmer that would fit in nicely at any Christmas party. mvp (271) - Harper Woods, Michigan, USA - OCT 11, 2017
Dark brown color with a light brown head that disappears quickly. Slight aroma of spice. Minty taste with a watery palate.
