JaBier (8235) - Capital City, Ohio, USA - AUG 28, 2015
Bottle shared by a friend. Darkest brown pour with no head. Aroma of malt, dark fruit and band-aid. Malt and raspberry flavor giving way to smokiness before a roasty finish.

12oz bottle shared by cbfobes, June 2014. Black pour, mild tan head, minimal lacing. Booze is definitely there in the aroma, roasty, abrasive, almost acidic in a way, dark chocolate and coffee.... meh. Nutty flavor, almost buttery, chocolate, acidity present, roast, coffee, more of the booziness. Meh.

Bought this almost a year ago. Finally getting to it. Dark black body. Smokey sweet cocoa aroma. Sweet lightly smoked taste. Some chocolate flavors. Hint of caramel and maple.

fattybladdy (830) - Kalamazoo, Michigan, USA - JAN 1, 2015
Bottle, aged 1 year. Pours black with quite the strong aroma of dark chocolate, black licorice and booze. Taste is licorice, red fruit, dark chocolate. Big and boozy.

BrownALEx (459) - Portland, Michigan, USA - DEC 23, 2014
Aged one year. Deep dark pour with a tan head. Aroma is very robust. Smells of chocolate, malt and smoke. Taste is very smokey with hints of dark fruit and chocolate. Palate is full bodied. Overall a great stout, the 13% is hidden well but the effects are still there. Glad I aged it.

kaser (6378) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - NOV 9, 2014
Black pour from 12oz bottle from trade, at home, bottle share w/ Paws. Off white head. Licorice, cocoa, and cherry aroma. Vanilla, raspberry, cocoa nibs, and roasty. Tons going on with this gem. Delicious.

Christpuncher (3251) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - NOV 9, 2014
This is a complex beer. Smells bourbony and smokey. Smokey chocolately cherry notes in this one. Pours black in color with a tan head. Has a smokey flavor that lasts. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

phaleslu (10652) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - SEP 16, 2014
Bottle shared by a Lowry brother - thanks again! Pours a deep brown color with a tan head that mostly settles in the form of bigger bubbles around the edge. Notes of tobacco, chocolate, black olives, earth, roast, and some citrusy and spicy hops. Light-medium bodied, with moderate carbonation and a very earthy mouthfeel. Lacks the roast and body of a 13% imperial stout; drinks more like a chocolaty, earthy imperial porter with about 8% ABV.

Had while watching beer is dark episode #DHN . Nose is sweet, chocolate, coffee, dark is the word. Mouthfeel is a touch thin, but has a depth to it. Flavours are big but the booze is well disguised . Thanx to Jake and Wiggs for sharing ! Looking forward to the second bottle with some age. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from mike. Very dark. Minimal head. Very strong dark fruit flavor. Has a red wine dryness. Medium thickness, not sure I believe the 13%
