Bottled. A pitch black beer with a thin brown head. The aroma has notes of alcohol, roasted malt, soy sauce, and bourbon. The flavor is sweet with notes of alcohol, soy sauce, roasted malt, wood, and bourbon, leading to a dry, alcohol, and roasted malt. The alcohol leaves a burn on the tongue. Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of madsberg. Pours an opaque black with pretty much no head. Sweet Bourbon nose atop some very sweet roast. Solid body, no carbonation whatsoever, slightly tart hard roast, some pruney dark fruit and sweet roast. Lots of warming Bourbon leaving a boozy finish. Lovely - in spite of the lack of carbonation. 311011

Bottle shared at the Croydonia July 2013 Tasting - East Croydon. Thanks to Paul for this one. Pours oily black with a frothy tan head. Nose of chocolate cake, brownies, a bit of dark wood, hints of alcohol. Big sweet flavor with rich dark malt character, light char, dark chocolate, some dark fruits, raisins, light booze, mocha, chocolate syrup, decadent chocolate cake. Full bodied with fine, creamy carbonation. Moderate warmth in the finish, tons more dense chocolate cake, mellow earthy bitterness, brownies, oily chocolate, light burnt wood. Lovely, balanced but still rich and complex. Superb. fiulijn (20427) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JAN 26, 2017
Sergey’s hunt; 11% ABV
Black color. Nice aroma, roasted malts, cardboard, coffee, alcohol, hints of black liquorice, and even sourness. Medium body, too strong liquorice flavor, sour, and burning alcohol; no bourbon.
Good beer, but weird, seems slightly infected.
