COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Have you read the description for the regular Crooked Tree yet? Well this beer is almost the same just double. We actually took the Crooked Tree recipe and doubled all of the ingredients except the water, just the way a DOUBLE should be made. Big hops balanced with tons of malt give this beer a huge body. Although this beer is as cool as "the Fonz" when first purchased, it gets really mellow and smooth with some age. After a year or two stored in a cool dark place you’ll notice the heavy caramel and malt flavors are trying to sneak past the hops, they’re just not fast enough. This beer is hugely delicious so it will need your undivided attention (the chores can wait....trust us). 98 IBU’s

Color of an old penny, small off white head. Aroma of piney hops and malt. Moderate sweetness, bold hops and a nice malt backbone. Really nice beer!

I expected this to be overwhelmingly hoppy. It was the opposite. Excellent balance, with a lean towards malty smoothness. All 3 guys at table got it and loved it. At 12% ABV it will bring a buzz, but it creeps slowly. ---Rated via Beer Buddy

Aroma of pine, citrus, and caramel. Taste is very big on pine tar, and some caramel.

Big and boozy, this one’s bordering on barleywine territory. Pours a cloudy, brownish-yellow, with middling head. Aroma is marked by hops and malt, and a big whiff of alcohol. Flavor is pretty sweet, with a big, forward hop bitterness, with a lot of malt. Alcohol content is fairly well-masked, at least as far as the flavor goes (it’s very apparent in the aroma). This is one to sip and savor.

Draught @ Milk and Hops. Clear dark orange with very small frothy off-white head, faint orange peel aroma, low carbonation, hoppy taste with initial sweetness, smooth body, long bitter orange peel finish. Very smooth and flavorful.

Bottled. 2016 vintage. Pours very dark copper, hazy. Aroma is exactly what I expected when I saw 12% IIPA. Burnt sugar, toffee, slight oak orange, citrus, and what else is that? Some other fruit. Wow, flavor is hop forward, still some caramel, toffee, burnt sugar again. It’s very good.

12 bottle to a tulip. Rusty reddish orange with an average white head and nice lacing. Aroma is pine, citrus, and toasted caramel malts. Flavor is more bitter pine and citrus fruit with a strong caramel malt backbone. Fairly juicy and quenching with an alcohol presence. Nice beer.

Turboninja (936) - Tampere, FINLAND - JAN 12, 2016
[email protected], from Wine Spot, Cleveland, USA. Strong bold sweet aroma of berries (rowan), sweet malts, caramel and some alcohol. Red/copper color with small/medium natural white head and slightly hazy liquid. Strong organic taste with berries, lots of hops, malts, some caramel and alcohol. Balanced with narrow taste spectrum and long hoppy aftertaste with dry malts and a hint of berries. Medium body with light/medium carbonation. Overall, high quality but a bit simple for this percentage. Also the body could be slightly stronger.

MY FAVORITE BEER!!! It’s a must try. Dark horse nailed it by doubling everything in the crooked tree other then the water. This 12% beer taste like a 7%. Smooth mouth fell it’s a great beer.
