Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy amber color with a slightly smallish white head. Nose is hoppy and a little floral. Taste is quite clean and only slightly bitter. Very easy drink and quite refreshing.

Bottle from Rehills, Newcastle. Hazy amber coloured with a thin white head of foam. It has a rich, spicy orange marmalade flavour with toffee and pine on the creamy, zesty finish. Superb!

On tap at Pinocchio’s. This is the second variation of Crooked Tree I’ve had...but never had the base version. Both were excellent. Pour that looked like iced tea...very little head, cloudy...could have really passed for iced tea. Big hoppy nose. Huge cascade flavor, with some mild teabag notes. Very bitter. Worth seeking out.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled on 4/5/2013. Pours hazy orange amber color with a nice 2 finger dense and fluffy off white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice soapy lacing clings down the glass. Aromas of big tangerine, orange zest, grapefruit, lemon peel, floral, caramel, grass, bread, and light pine. Damn nice aromas with big citrus hop presence and moderate malt balance. Taste of big grapefruit, orange zest, lemon zest, floral, grass, caramel, biscuit, pine, and floral earthiness. Fair amount of pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of citrus, citrus zest, floral, grass, caramel, and pine on the finish for a good bit. Very nice hop flavor balance and complexity; with moderate malt balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a fairly creamy and moderately sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a small warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a damn nice single hop IPA. All around nice balance and complexity of hop and malt flavors; and very smooth to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

Sample tasting at Hackney’s Printers Row. Citrusy piney nose. Maybe because it is following a fruity gose, but I’m getting deep delicious sweet maple malty notes, over a piney hop base, with musty stonefruits. Tastes really damn good right now.
