Orange color with foam layer. Pale ale nose with some hoppy bitterness. Hoppy bitter taste, some tartness. Dry bitter aftertaste. The whole beer is more pale ale than all other kölsch i know. SinH4 (5640) - Garching b. Mnchen, GERMANY - JUN 9, 2016
Surprisingly orange color with small tan head. Aroma is hoppy, resinous, light toasted malts. Taste is toasted malts, bitter, light-bodied, quite resinous. Jammy mouthfeel. Kölsch? Well... But it’s a nice beer. mikem409 (2027) - bloomfield, Michigan, USA - NOV 28, 2011
amber in color with frothy white head. hazy, sweet malt smell and taste. very refreshing clean finish great summer beer. ryan (3186) - Beltsville, Maryland, USA - OCT 16, 2011
Clear amber body had me a bit worried about this beer any thing even remotely kolsch-like. However, this was actually very solid. I should know better than to doubt dark horse! Light cracker nose, light herbal hops. Taste was nice and dry, lots of biscuit, some caramel, but it’s never sweet or astringent. Dry and bitter finish. Excellent beer, not really a kolsch though, but who cares. Yum.
