Bottle: The aroma consists of tart raspberry, light lemon, vinegar, and a touch of acetone. It’s a hazy amber with a small off-white head that quickly fades to a minimal film outlined by a slightly thicker ring. The flavor starts with a quick dose of moderate tart raspberry. The finish has light-moderate lemon, lemon, and just a hint of acetone. It’s light bodied with moderate carbonation.
Bottle: Thanks, Matt. Hazed orange-amber body with minimal off-white head. Aromas of raspberry juice, perfume, mild florals, moderate tart lacto, faint yogurt. Flavor is nicely tart, not overly sour. Raspberry with a mild red-wine vinousness. Light hay, lacto, faint lemon. Somewhat dry finish, nicely raspberry perfume that lingers. Surprised by how good this was. A huge gusher, glad I opened it in the sink. Cloudy red/golden, no head or lacing, lots of floaters (Raspberry skins?). Aroma is sour raspberries and vinegar. Taste is sour raspberries, vinegar, acidic with a dry finish
750ml bottle. ***** GUSHER ALERT ****** One of the biggest gushers in my over 8000+ beers. Josh sprayed this one right in my eyes too - had to flush out my eyes! BBT3 tasting. Poured a (or should I say sprayed a) amberish color. Funky, raspberry, fruity, and somewhat acetic. hopscotch (11181) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - MAY 2, 2013
Bottle... Hazy dirty-orange pour with a mid-sized, wispy, short-lived white head. The bouquet comes across to me as an interesting, but odd, fusion of a Flemish brown ale, Flanders red ale and an aged English barleywine – caramel, brown sugar, sour raspberries, acetic acid, and mild, fallen apple-like oxidation. Medium-bodied with airy carbonation. The flavor is a fruity - cherry and raspberry - SweeTart coupling intertwined with a super-sour, Trinity Old Growth-like acidic component. Finishes fruity, tart, and then moderately dry. I can see where folks might stumble across an acetone/vinegar component here due to all the acetic acid. To those folks, I say “Good for you. You know what you like and what you don’t, but how can you possibly know what acetone tastes like and still be alive?” That said, this one is a bit too acetic. Otherwise, it’s a very nice beer. In short: A mess of a raspberry sour-ish beer.cpetrone84 (1810) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 21, 2012
How: Bottle 750ml. Consumed when approximately 1.5 year of age. Bottle from WeisGuy, thanks Shane.
The look: A bit of a gusher. Muddy rust color body topped by a fizzy pinky-beige ring of foam.
In long: Nose is raspberry, medicine cabinet, a strange barrel sensation (I swear I could smell notes of bourbon in there?!?!), acetone, cosmetic section of a store. Taste is raspberries, crushed aspirins, white chocolate (!?!), moldy fruits, old wet wood, moss sensation, some vinegary notes, light sourness. Soda-pop carbonation at first and then almost flat after 5 minutes. The vinegar part is fortunately kept under control but other than that this beer is a total mess. I drained pour more than half the bottle, it’s probably a good thing I don’t remember how much this junk cost. This beer was both laughable and disturbing, as laughable and disturbing as a ransom note that says "Draw me a picture of horny unicorn banging a dolphin or you’ll never see your wife alive again".
we’ve got a gusher. Pour is a murky reddish orange with an off white thin head. Nose is heavy on raspberry purée, aspirin, and acetic acid. Strange muddled malt behind. The flavor is more fruity, raspberry heavy, lots of sweetness. It’s not as acetic as one would think from the nose but still a fair burn in back. Odd dark malts resinate in back with light aspirin mid to back palate. A little grain on the back of the tongue, fair carbonation and burn in back. gushes considerably upon opening, dark amber, thin white ring. Nose is heavy fruit acetic, lingering sugar adds date and chocolate notes, oddly contrasted, light brine, almost no fruit. Flavor shows more raspberry, light seed, bit of synthetic sugary finish with heavy chest burn. AmEricanbrew (6878) - Same Trailer, Different Park, Louisiana, USA - JUN 29, 2012
hazy light amber color with tan head. raspberry, caramel, acidic aromas. Medium tart raspberry, brett, flavors with some caramel sweetness--good Oakes (18543) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 17, 2012
Hazy tan. The aroma is tart. There is a lot of wood to this, along with a bit of deep overripe fruit. Interesting.
