Bottle. Huge creamy tan head. Hazy copper color. Lots of coffee and booze in the aroma and taste. Not bad but would not be my choice over a stout or porter for a coffee flavored beer. keanex (1799) - Atco, New Jersey, USA - APR 28, 2014

Appearance: Mildly hazy amber-copper body with a foamy light tan head.
Aroma: Big coffee with a malty fruity backing with hints of bread and caramel.
Taste: Prominent coffee with a mildly malty and fruity backing.
Palate: Medium bodied, moderately carbonated.
Overall: Very nice and enjoyable, I’d be thrilled if this were a coffee Troegenator though.
Draught @ BBF 2014. Reddish brown beer with a creamy, beige head. Aroma is suprisingly fresh with malts and coffee. Flavour is sweetish, malts, coffee and nicely warming alcohol in the end. Soft mouthfeel but not flat at all. Svesse (8580) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - APR 17, 2014
(Draught at Beer Temple, Amsterdam, 2 March 2014) Reddish brown colour with creamy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with generous aromas of coffee, notes of roasted malt and dark bread. Mainly coffee though. Roasted, malty taste with freshly ground coffee, caramel, dried fruit and a balanced coffee bitterness. More than medium body, with a certain malt sweetness. Generous coffee character, but still well balanced. Nice one. BrewHaMeister (456) - Wisconsin, USA - APR 12, 2014
12oz bottle pours a cloudy reddish brown with a medium head. Big coffee aroma and flavor. Slightly watery with a metallic aftertaste. Ok, not bad.

Cap comes off with throaty top but no gushing. Has a huge head tho, on a deep amber body. Aroma is coffee and malts. Hints of caramel. Taste is malty with moderate to heavy notes of coffee. Well blended notes of light chocolate, toast and coffee. Lightly sweet finish. Medium body. Angelmonster (198) - Colorado, USA - APR 8, 2014
Pours a murky, mahogany color in body. Head is an inch and a beige/cream color. Lacing and head retention are wonderful.
Smell is of roasted/burnt dark malts and coffee. Smoky wood or roasted chiles is also oddly detected. Sweet caramel candy/butterscotch balance the bitter coffee. Alcohol is hidden nicely.
Initially tastes more like a standard bock rather than doppelbock. Lighter in sweetness and alcohol strength. Strong, sweet fruit/prune flavors are replaced by lighter malts and a serious bitter coffee kick. Smoky/burnt mesquite wood or fire roasted chiles leave a strange aftertaste. At 7% alcohol, it is incredibly smooth.
Mouthfeel is on the lighter side with lots of carbonation. Head added some texture to the beer.
Overall, I think this was a refreshing take on an old style of beer. Wouldn’t say this was the best doppelbock out there but I am slightly biased towards coffee beers. Drinks easily for 7% abv, not available locally but hoping to revisit this one in the future Ricoslim (116) - - APR 5, 2014
Poured from bottle. Color is almost of maple syrup. Aroma is not very potent. Coffee is light in taste.
Weiches malziges Finish. 10/11/11/11/8/11

Medium brown color. Very carbonated pour. Very odd aroma. Reminds me of a hot sauce smell. Tastes fine. A little coffee flavor comes through over the caramel taste if the body. This beer is just ok.
