It’s big and full bodied with lots of roasted malts and balanced with heavy hops to put this imperial in a league of its own.
Previously known as Dark Horse Imperial Stout.

Bottle at home, I think thanks to Werckmeister. Pours pitch black with a very brief beige head. Aroma and taste is slightly bitter chocolate and cold pressed coffee with salty liquorice and a light caramel and vanilla touch. Short liquorice finish. Elegant and solid, but quite straightforward. Dangerously hidden alcohol.

Aromat: mocny, przyjemny, intensywny, bogaty.

Vanilla and lots of licorice here in the nose and taste. A bit of bourbon lingers and adds to the taste as this stays in the mouth. Alcohol hidden very nicely. Dark with tan head. Lots of roasted and toasted notes. Straight-forward, did not pick up any interesting things like fruit.

Mleczna kawa. Czekolada. Dobrze ukryty alkohol. Przyjemne. Niczego jednak nie urywa.

UPDATED: APR 21, 2017 Bottle (12oz). Black with nearly no head. Roasty aroma. Taste of chocholate first then some coffee bitterness. Light carbonation. Full body. Some smokiness too. Nice.

Aroma is chocolate/dark chocolate, dark malts, coffee and a hint of dry earthiness. The flavor is chocolate/dark chocolate, coffee, dark malts, mild dark fruit/fruit and a mix of big acidity and slight spiciness/alcohol in the finish.

Bottle from Liquor Barn into a snifter. Lots of roasted malt, some coffee, hop bitterness.

Tap at Mellow. Pours a murky, dark brown with a small head that dissipates quickly. Yeasty aromas. Cacao nib and faint coffee aromas. Boozy on the palate, roasty bitterness. Very gritty on the palate, like a French press almost. Something doesn’t feel right, as this is usually a classic. Will try again if i see it.
