Bottle. Wonderful aroma of cream, dark fruits, bakery, and spices. Mudwater pour. Very cloudy and murky. Flavor is of dark fruit, apricot, spices, and potpourri. There is too much Chamomile. in here and it throws it off quite a bit. Great label, though. mabel (9246) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 11, 2017
[8862-20161105] Tap. Light woody bark hops aroma. Murky, dark red amber brown body with a quick foamy off-white head. Woody light citrus and fruit malt flavour. Medium body. Good. (7/3/7/4/14) 3.5

Light citrus and some chamomile. Like you spilled fruit juice in your breakfast tea. Light sweet herbal finish. Chamomile is huge here. Not bad but couldn’t drink a lot of this. Bottle. monk191 (2023) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JAN 22, 2017
A nice fruity pale ale. Pours a beautiful deep cloudy orange with a thick white head. Smells of tropical fruit. Taste has lots of tropical fruit, banana, ginger and marzipan. Had in the bottle.

Aroma is fruit, mild/medium sweetness and a hint of pumpkin. The flavor is citrus, fruit/mild apricot, malts, mild sweetness and a bitter/tart/hoppy finish.

Dark copper in color... aroma of chamomile, apricot purée... Flavor is chamomile, spices, some mild hints of apricots blended with some overripe fruit notes, with some rotten fruit bitterness on finish... Decent, but a little too strange for my liking

Bottle from Growlers to Go, Richmond. Cloudy, lots of floaters in this amber-brown beer. Small off-white head. Major chamomile in the aroma, along with wet dog, apricot, and some spice. Wow, interesting. Flavor is a nice blend of apricot and chamomile, buried spice (perhaps cinnamon). Somewhat sweet, but also somewhat bitter. I’m not sure I love it, but it sure is an interesting creation. HourGlass13 (1000) - North Carolina, USA - DEC 17, 2016
Pours up a clear golden color, with moderate carbonation and a white head that fades. Aroma has apricot juice, honey, graham crackers and light spice.
Taste yields no noticeable alcohol, plenty of fresh fruit and base malts, sweet, not overly so, ample carbonation. Honey, dough, peach, nectarine and finally dry, tart apricots with some spice cake like spices. Medium bodied, honey and fruit. Interesting, for sure. Good stuff. freekyp (2370) - Thomasville, North Carolina, USA - DEC 11, 2016
A truly unique beer, Scary Jesus is a complex journey. Starting with a bright fruity rum soaked apricot nose, on first sip it tends towards carrot cake and brown sugar, then other fruits creep in, and it starts to swing towards heavily spiced fruitcake. Thick and moderately sweet. Clear amber. Very interesting and worthy of several glasses. AWISLguy (3242) - Wisconsin, USA - DEC 4, 2016
12oz bottle from the Malt Shoppe in Tosa. Orangey brown pour with an off white head. Aroma has stone fruits, tangerine, pine, thick sweet malts and something herbal. Taste is of sweet malts and sweet fruits, ginger, some stone fruits, and other herbs. Medium bodied, a bit rough, with little alcohol presence. The blend is ok, just is a strange combination of flavors. Finishes sweetly tangy and short. Shrug? A different type of taste and blend, and just ok. 13
