Bottle. Pours foggy chestnut brown. Small off-white well-lacing head. Rich aroma: caramel, nuts, toffee, fruit jam, sherry. Sweet but complex. Medium to full body. Still easy-drinking. Taste: rich malts, subtle fruit, bread, nuts, some hops. Everithing but sticky. Perfectly balanced. Delicious. mike_77 (7275) - Breda, NETHERLANDS - DEC 16, 2017

, from Beer Republic. Slightly yeasty and funky nuances of dark fruits like plum and fig, wood and a bit bitter red berries. Averagely balanced with wide taste spectrum and long, nutty and woody aftertaste. Medium body and medium/light carbonation. Overall, a bit home made feeling with too light, watery mouthfeel.
Klares, dunkles Rotbraun mit relativ wenig Schaum. Malzig, etwas Karamell, dunkle Schokoladen, nussig, leichte Rauchnoten, getrocknete Früchte, sehr süffig. GregMooreNH (278) - Bedford, New Hampshire, USA - OCT 15, 2017
UPDATED: OCT 31, 2017 Pours a deep chestnut with light head. Aroma is cereal and spice. Taste is at once a cinnamon flavor, opening up to a sweet maltiness with a slight burn on the finish. A very smooth beer that is perfect after a good meal.

March 2014. Plenty of what makes A scotch ale a scotch ale. Full-bodied, robust, smoky and acidic. Notes of chocolate and toffee. Lots of malts and it hides the high alcohol well. And in-your-face take it or leave it brew. A slightly bitter acidic and long-lasting aftertaste. A fine brew. I enjoyed it and would drink it on tap or at a friends house, but considering it has the same number of calories as a Belgian quad I would have to pass in in favor of the quad
