COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
For those of you who don’t know who "Scotty Karate" is... He is a local one man band who plays an amazing slurry of honky tonk influenced, punk country songs. His voice is amazing as well as his high energy shows. (Check him out @ www.scottykaratetime.com) So, we decided to make a beer and name it in his honor. This beer is a big, full bodied Scottish ale. It is 9.75% alc. but it is very smooth and balanced. Since Scotty is also very passionate about beer I asked him to write a description for you, so from the man himself... Aroma: Smells like A fresh caramel apple with a hint of cinnamon inside of cranberry shortbread. Or maybe fresh home made hard candy (from home economics class-7th grade). Flavor: Tastes like a smokey chocolate chip cookie, wild roadside cherry-asparagus, woody, crispy leaf on a fall day.

UPDATED: OCT 31, 2017 Pours a deep chestnut with light head. Aroma is cereal and spice. Taste is at once a cinnamon flavor, opening up to a sweet maltiness with a slight burn on the finish. A very smooth beer that is perfect after a good meal.

March 2014. Plenty of what makes A scotch ale a scotch ale. Full-bodied, robust, smoky and acidic. Notes of chocolate and toffee. Lots of malts and it hides the high alcohol well. And in-your-face take it or leave it brew. A slightly bitter acidic and long-lasting aftertaste. A fine brew. I enjoyed it and would drink it on tap or at a friends house, but considering it has the same number of calories as a Belgian quad I would have to pass in in favor of the quad ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Hopper8 (241) - Holland, Michigan, USA - APR 30, 2017
UPDATED: MAY 8, 2017 Pleasantly rich aroma, with a nice deep red color. Oaky taste with a nice coating mouthfeel. Finish is a bit dry and lacks the complexity of the rest of the beer, but still nice. Would drink on occasions, is cool.

kathouse (1940) - LAS VEGAS, Nevada, USA - APR 24, 2017
Dark amber/brown beer has a chocolate/caramel aroma. Flavor is bigger to include figs and dried red fruit. Finish is a little spicier in the finish.

10/IV/17 - 12Fl. Oz. bottle from Geers (Oostakker) @ home - BB: n/a, bottled: I/3/14 (2017-439)

Cellar find!
Clear dark amber to purple brown beer, creamy yellowish beige head, pretty stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: sweet, lots of dried fruits, caramel, butter scotch, soft roast, bit of banana. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: soft roast, sweet, caramel, lots of dried fruits, bit sugary. Aftertaste: slightly bitter, hoppy touch, some caramel, banana, bit malty, sweet, some alcoohol but mainly it’s pretty well hidden for a 10% ABV.
