Draft at 2014 4 Elf party. Pours dark brown. Long lasting creamy tan head. Sweet aroma. Flavor is sweet milk chocolate, some roast, and some maple. Medium palate. Creamy mouthfeel. I enjoyed, but I wish it didn’t have so much sweetness. Not sure I’d want to drink more then one of these. tectactoe (3125) - Michigan, USA - DEC 15, 2014
Tap @ Dark Horse: Dark brown body, capped with a small, tan film & collar. Sweet aroma with very light hints of maple extract, Caramalt, lightly toasted nuts, & faint vanilla. Pretty mild overall. Flavors include semisweet chocolates, mild maple sweetness, & a touch of roast... Again, pretty faint. Warmth reveals a bit more vanilla & caramel with a dense cocoa finish. Not as much maple as I was hoping for... Chocolate is actually more of a stand-out flavor than maple. A little thin, but decent. Tmoney99 (15130) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - AUG 16, 2012
Draft sample. Poured a dark brown color with a huge frothy brown head that mostly lasted and produced excellent lacing. Moderate toasted dark chocolate and maple aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium toasted sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Good, a little to sweet. deyholla (12589) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - AUG 5, 2012
Sampled from the tap at the 15th annual MBGSF. Pours a dark brown with a light brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of maple with dark grains and a bit of roastiness and sweetness underlying. Flavor has a lot of roasted notes with some maple coming through to add some sweetness. sethmoko (42) - Illinois, USA - APR 19, 2012
On tap at taproom. Roasty porter aroma with a nice balance from the maple. Taste also provides nice sweetness.

Dark pour orange/ruby hue thin off white head ... aroma is of sweet maple syrup and roasted ... taste is maple syrup and roasted ... a nice sweet syrup taste not overbearing but not nonexistant which seems to be hard to pull off ... thin roasted mouthfeel with caramel malts too .... sweet roasted finish .... a solid and tasty porter abv hidden well ... they should definitely go to this brew more often
