Aroma is yeast, dark malts and earth. The flavor is dark malts, chocolate, earth and a bittersweet finish. ARH (1125) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - APR 20, 2015
On tap, poured into a shaker. The beer is a dark, nearly opaque cola color with a soft foam, off-white head with a moderate retention, and only a touch of lace. The aroma is roasted grains and chocolate with a light licorice note in the background. The taste is a medium sweetness with a medium-light bitterness. The beer is syrupy with a creamy fizz carbonation and a medium full body flavored with lots of chocolate and roasted grain that finishes with a clean licorice spiciness and some light notes of dark fruits. The aftertaste is a licorice cleanliness with coffee and bread notes. Taboada (1347) - Compostela (Galiza), - APR 16, 2015
354 mml bottle tasted on the 15/04/2015. Pours black with a tan head. Aroma has notes of cocoa, roast, hints of dark coffee and slight caramel. Taste is sweet with presence of cocoa and roasted malts. Aftertaste has medium level of roasty bitterness. Next one please! stoutgap (61) - Indiana, USA - APR 5, 2015
Bottle to glass, large rocky light brown head that diminished slowly, not much lacing, tawny cola color.A light malt aroma with a burnt note. This porter is rather light in body, thin and slick. The moderate sweet flavor with bitter finish was short lived. Really not much of a porter. Pedrens (220) - SPAIN - MAR 15, 2015
Botella. Color negro opaco. Espuma beige jabonosa.

Bottle: Dark brown body with a foamy khaki head that fades very quickly to a measly collar. Aroma has notes of semisweet chocolate, molasses, & roasted malt. Very light undercurrent of prune, steak sauce, & faint soy. Not bad, but different. Flavor is decisively more roasty with a strong malt body. Faint charcoal, bitter cocoa dust, mild anise, & a hint of coffee bean. Slight coffee bean, & some prune skin towards the finish that adds a light acrid hint of astringency. Thin-medium mouth feel. Decent. ContemplateBeer (2089) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - FEB 27, 2015
Aroma: Espresso notes, raisins, dark cacao. Appearance: Almost oily black with a foamy tan head that settles into a skin. Flavor: Roast-centric, not a whole lot of chocolate; some citrusy notes buried underneath (something akin to Centennial); espresso finish. Palate: Full bodied, creamy texture, flat carbonation, abrupt finish. Overall: A satisfying enough porter; fairly pleasing on all levels. kidobutai (690) - Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA - FEB 26, 2015
Poured from a bottle. A very good abv content. Creamy, tangy, coffee aroma that continues to the tongue. Great dark brown color. AlutisLt (57) - Vilnius, LITHUANIA - FEB 22, 2015
very hoppy, has no porter sweetness. not very easy to drink. Just to try and forget... Slipstream (2626) - USA - FEB 18, 2015
I expected Dark Horse to make a fine porter and they didn’t disappoint. Label has a very thirsty trout indeed on it - it’s a skeleton. Aroma is sweet, funky, and complex. The taste is equally impressive, smoky and spicy, but well balanced too. Really good.
