4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle, listed 7% ABV. Pours a deep dark brown to black. A vigorous swirl of the glass produces a finger or so of a tight-bubbled mocha head that settles slowly to a ring. Nose involves a large amount of dark chocolate with some brown sugar, toasted malt notes, and touches of dark fruit. Taste is nice and sweet with some balancing bitterness, but not a whole lot. Fuller bodied, creamy, softer carb, with a nice chocolaty finish. Good solid porter, nice flavor and aromatics, with hearty body and strength. Another awesome dark beer from Dark Horse.
Rather good. Rich bittersweet chocolate nose. Taste is a bit ashy then the chocolate and finishes dry with toasty toasty notes. Mouthfeel is thick and oily. Appearance is dark not much head or lace. A Complex and good. Listigovers (1174) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 1, 2017
Pours black with a thin but dense brown head. Very velvety mouthfeel, soft roast malts, dark malt bitterness. Very satisfying creamy aftertaste, good one. JPDIPSO (6223) - Wauwatosa, USA - JAN 29, 2017
Brown color with a modest sized tan head. Scents of chocolate, toasted and roasted malts, and hints of alcohol. Smooth feel. Light sweet start with some coffee, dark chocolate, and light fruit. Flavors thin out in the finish and linger making want more (in a couple different ways). 2/13

35 cl bottle. Nice thick beige head with small bubbles, doesn’t stick around for long. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malts, light licorice, pretty standard great aroma for DH porters. Palate is viscous and lightly carbonated. Flavor mostly follows the aroma with chocolate and roastiness with some molasses. Once again a great, sturdy dark ale from Dark Horse. abirres (125) - Salamanca, SPAIN - DEC 17, 2016
Negra, opaca y sin espuma. En nariz sorprendentemente licorosa, licor café, chocolate y notas a frutos secos. Ahumada. Sabor a licor café y chocolate, final seco a maltas tostadas. Demasiado licor, no parece estar bebiendo cerveza.

smells amd tastes like a stout/porter hybrid with notes of roasted malt, licorice and fruit more than the traditional caramel and chocolate notes in a porter. Pretty nice. Sissio (1650) - Orsenigo, ITALY - DEC 6, 2016
Bottle at home. Clear dark brown, minimal light brown head. Chocolate, cream, licorice, light ashy notes. Woody taste, milk chocolate, ashy ending, licorice, bitterish hoppy. Iznogud (3811) - CROATIA - NOV 28, 2016
Bottle, 355 ml from Beergium. Shared with JFK10000 and Josip. Pours dark brown with medium beige head. Roasted malts, chocolate, licorice, some dried fruit. Sweet with bitter finish. Medium bodied. Fules (1234) - Gyöngyös, HUNGARY - NOV 10, 2016
Kicsi, nem túl tartós hab, fekete szín. Illata csokis, pörkölt malátás. A korty csokis, pörkölt malátás ízekkel indít, a csúcsponton vaskos aszalt gyümölcsös aromák törnek előre, hosszú trüffeles, enyhén kesernyés-édeskés lecsengéssel végződik. Közepesen testes és szénsavas. Kiváló porter, egy hajszálnyit lehetne kevesebb a buborék.
