Pint at World of Beer Easton on 1/10/13. Darkest brown pour with a medium tan head. Aroma of malt, chocolate and roast. Malty flavor with dark chocolate character before a bitter, roasty finish. Straightforward, but nice.

BlazerT (1219) - Sosnowiec, POLAND - SEP 7, 2017
Nice, drinkable, some soy sauce, lightly licorice, milk chocolate, some override fruits. Taste is light heavy sweet.

Refrigerated growler poured into a glass. Black with dark brown highlights. Aroma is cocoa, medium body, lower carbonation, and little lacing. Taste is cocoa and some chocolate.

jb (3345) - Rochester, New York, USA - MAR 9, 2017
Rather good. Rich bittersweet chocolate nose. Taste is a bit ashy then the chocolate and finishes dry with toasty toasty notes. Mouthfeel is thick and oily. Appearance is dark not much head or lace. A Complex and good.

Listigovers (1278) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 1, 2017
Pours black with a thin but dense brown head. Very velvety mouthfeel, soft roast malts, dark malt bitterness. Very satisfying creamy aftertaste, good one.

JPDIPSO (6262) - Wauwatosa, USA - JAN 29, 2017
Brown color with a modest sized tan head. Scents of chocolate, toasted and roasted malts, and hints of alcohol. Smooth feel. Light sweet start with some coffee, dark chocolate, and light fruit. Flavors thin out in the finish and linger making want more (in a couple different ways). 2/13

TeijoA (73) - Turku, FINLAND - JAN 14, 2017
35 cl bottle. Nice thick beige head with small bubbles, doesn’t stick around for long. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malts, light licorice, pretty standard great aroma for DH porters. Palate is viscous and lightly carbonated. Flavor mostly follows the aroma with chocolate and roastiness with some molasses. Once again a great, sturdy dark ale from Dark Horse.

abirres (126) - Salamanca, SPAIN - DEC 17, 2016
Negra, opaca y sin espuma. En nariz sorprendentemente licorosa, licor café, chocolate y notas a frutos secos. Ahumada. Sabor a licor café y chocolate, final seco a maltas tostadas. Demasiado licor, no parece estar bebiendo cerveza.

slowrunner77 (12591) - Reno, Nevada, USA - DEC 13, 2016
smells amd tastes like a stout/porter hybrid with notes of roasted malt, licorice and fruit more than the traditional caramel and chocolate notes in a porter. Pretty nice.

Sissio (1724) - Orsenigo, ITALY - DEC 6, 2016
Bottle at home. Clear dark brown, minimal light brown head. Chocolate, cream, licorice, light ashy notes. Woody taste, milk chocolate, ashy ending, licorice, bitterish hoppy.
