Bottle. Pours dark orange amber with white head. Nose/taste of whiskey barrel, chocolate, soured dark and citrus fruits and candy sugar. A bit thick on the palate. Whiskey adds an odd dimension. Tmoney99 (14965) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - MAR 6, 2008
MBG Winter Fest 2008. Poured hazy copper color with an average fizzy white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate to heavy fruit, whiskey and citrus hoppy aroma. Medium to full body with a slick texture. Medium to heavy bittersweet flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate to moderate duration. bu11zeye (13215) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - FEB 27, 2008
(Draught) Pours a hazy golden body with a small off-white head. Aroma of citrus, herbs, caramel, bourbon, vanilla, and oak. Flavor of orange/grapefruit peel, apple, caramel malt, and oak in the finish. j12601 (13099) - Poughkeepsie, New York, USA - MAR 17, 2011
Pouring at the Night of the Barrels at EBF. Pours a hazed brown with a thin beige head. Sour notes, acid and brett. Sour and sweet, big brett notes. Long whisky, acid and tannins. This was great. deyholla (12251) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - DEC 22, 2010
Bottle shared by hoppymeal, thanks! Poued a clear chestnut with a small white head that dissipated quickly and completely. Aroma was a bit boozy with a good amount of sweet grain and caramel and a bit of sourness underlying. Flavor was more sour with sour red fruits coming through. There was a strong grain backing with a bit of booze coming out in the finihs.

Sample from bottle. Pours a hazy amber brown with a medium off white head. The nose is tart and acidic to open, boozy whiskey with some white grape showing up as well. The flavor is also tart and acidic with grapes and whiskey throughout. This comes off more as a sour, not simply a Belgian strong. Either way I found it to be an interesting brew. cubs (10714) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - SEP 1, 2014
Bottle @ the rake dungeon. I think I have womencantsail to thank for this whale. Pours a hazy dull, dark orange appearance with little head. The aroma has a lot of acetic acid, chemicals / acetone, and a dull fruitiness. There is a lemony element to the flavor that is the one redeeming factor. Some cherry-like fruitiness. Lots of nail polish remover in the flavor. Highly acidic finish. Not good. sebletitje (10293) - Enghien, BELGIUM - OCT 10, 2009
courtesy of frampin. This one was the Whiskey Richard Lambeak.
clear 750ml bottle.
Pours murky brown, thin white head.
Aroma was boozy and lightly grainy.
Flavor, malty, whiskey is present though not overwhelming, followed by some nice sour notes.
It’s very well balanced the whiskey is mild yet noticeable as is the sour side of this beer. ABV seems to be quite here as well, accompanied by some sourness and fruits. Hints of white grapes.
I am still puzzled as the overall style the beer was supposed to be. I saw it more as a sour. Tasty! Ibrew2or3 (8814) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - OCT 30, 2009
Courtesy of sebletitje. The crystal clear 750mL poured hazy copper with gold hues and thin white head. The aroma is both sour and boozy whiskey as well as some malts and oddly some chocolate mingling with the sour notes. The taste starts a bit tart and sour then heading toward whiskey and oak. All the notes stay pretty light and fresh and ending somewhat dry. Nice stuff with plenty of balance and interest. Beerman6686 (6611) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 2, 2015
This poured a murky dark golden color with a white head. Aroma was of acetone, cheese, and that’s about it. Flavor was similar, caramel, tongue biting battery acid. Bad.
