nybol (1765) - DENMARK - OCT 11, 2015
En meget "fed" smag af de mørke malte, den har næsten ingen humle, og der anes specielt lakrids.

teorn88 (7671) - Rimini, ITALY - NOV 14, 2014
Backlog rating. Cask at CPK, London. It pours a clean brown color with ruby edges and a small beige head. Aroma is malty and sweet, with notes of biscuit, caramel, licorice, light citrus notes, light booze. Taste is sweet, with notes of banana, toffee, biscuit, burnt sugar. Finishes lightly yeasty and estery. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Overall, ok bock

500ml bottle from Beer Dock, Crewe. Pours black brown with fast diminishing head. Good carbonation to liven the flavours. Complex rich dark fruit and drinks stronger than it is. Very good

Bottle 500ml.

[ As Dark Star / Saltaire Bock ].
Clear medium brown color with a small to average, open and frothy - fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, dark malt, sugary, pepper - black pepper notes. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter with a long duration, brown sugar, dark malt, caramel. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery and sticky, carbonation is soft. [20140705]

johndoughty (5398) - cheslyn hay, West Midlands, ENGLAND - SEP 17, 2014
Bottle. Black with a small head. Slightly fruity with a small head. Medium body but not quite what I had expected. Interesting but not very exciting example of this style.

jamesie1857 (2107) - Sheffield, South Yorkshire, ENGLAND - AUG 24, 2014
500ml bottle from Beer Central, Sheffield - Dark ruby-brown with a medium sized tan head that quickly recedes to a thin film. Fantastic aroma of malt, toffee, dark fruit, and a hint of spice. Full bodied without being sticky or cloying, very nice. Lovely, complex flavour - malt, caramel, brown sugar, dark dried fruit, toasted nuts - and a warm, lingering finish. Very good.

Skinnyviking (9550) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - AUG 22, 2014
Bottle at home. Low fluffy and quickly disappearing off-white head. Very dark red brown body. Sweet roasted malt caramel cocoa aroma. Sweet roasted malt caramel toffee flavor with little hops bitterness, low carbonation and a short finish.
