The yeast strain used for the brewing of the pale, dry American Ales is specially imported from the USA, along with Cascade and Centennial hops, to produce this pale ale. The low colour Maris Otter malt provides a perfect light colour and dryness to complement the crisp taste and full aroma of the hops.

330 ml can, as Dark Star APA, from Ales by Mail. ABV is 4.7%. Overcarbonated, slightly gushing can, the glass fills completely by white foam. When the beer appears underneath, it is pale golden. The huge head lasts "forever". Strong and pleasant aroma of fruity and piney American hops. Distinctly hoppy flavour on a moderately sweet base, tropical fruits, grapefruit, pine needles and resin. Bitter finish.

Lekko zamglony kolor w odcieniu złota i żłci. Bardzo wysoka, puszysta, ubita jak białko piana. Bardzo długo przykleja się do piwa. Pozostawia na szkle mnstwo znaczkw. Krążkowanie wzorowe. Aromat umiarkowanie słodowy, cytrusowy, kwiatowy. Mamy tutaj dojrzałe mango, grejpfrut i morele. W smaku ciasteczkowa podbudowa, potem owoce cytrusowe z grejpfrutem i mango na czele. W ustach i na podniebieniu wyczuwalne rwnież sosnowe igiełki. Goryczka średnia. Wyraźny cytrusowy, chmielowy finisz. Pełne ciało, zbita zwarta struktura. Smaczne i wysoce pijalne piwo.

Sampled from a can from Prohibition Wines. Slightly hazy golden colour with a white head. Fruity aromas and a taste of malt, citrus and mango with undertones of wood and pine resin. A full taste with a lively bitterness. A really good and highly drinkable APA.

Last stop on today beer tour. The Victoria, Lincoln. This beer was a welcome surprise to see on this area. With its golden colour, white head. It had a fruity citrus aroma with a light bitterness throughout. Nice.

Can from Coppers, Newcastle. Hazy pale golden in colour with a thin white head of foam. It has a sweet citrus and tropical fruit flavour with malty notes, pine and woody undertones on the smooth finish. Very Good.

From the Good Spirits Co. Wine & Beer. Very pale in appearance, with just a lacing of foam. Nose is light, clean, slightly biscuity malt. Palate is excellent: hoppy, light, refreshing. The carbonation is a little too much for my taste, but thats a very minor quibble.
