3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Cask by handpump at Hengler’s Circus, Glasgow - cloudy brown, off-white head, elderberry, chocolate, smooth with mellow hop aftertaste
Nice chalky roastiness. Is it a dark mild or a mild stout? Maybe a little too dry. I see why they just call it a "dark ale". It is not to any style guidelines. Very bitter finish. Good overall. mviljamaa (196) - FINLAND - MAR 25, 2017
Pours with good foamy foam. Color is very dark amber, almost black. Aroma is barely non-existent, but has light burnt, roasted malty notes and leather. Palate is excellently balanced and light. Taste is fresh and has clean burnt taste, orange peel, spring water and some bitter hops. Very refreshing for a porter and not too heavy. A surprising porter at only 3,5%. jookos (7070) - FINLAND - MAR 1, 2017

Blackish. Some citrus, slight ashy roast on nose, is this a black ipa? Med light bodied. Quite easy, well bittered, citrussy flavoured, dark licorice roasty. Kinda nkce. Keeps me entertained. A bit light bldy-wise, but clean nice otherwise.

Cask at PoW, Farnborough. A bitter coffee aroma, but it’s weak. Dark with a cola tint. Thin, if not sparse, head. Light bitter, although it then gains in stremgth. Daark coffee and sour berries. Light to medium bodied. Oily. Flat carbonation. Long but astringent finish. OK but I found that the astringency was too high in the mix. thomat (4180) - Gteborg, SWEDEN - FEB 24, 2017
Cask @ NWAF 2017. Dark reddish brown with a small tan head. Malty and fruity tones. Malt, coffee, fruit and britternes. Light body with a bitter / fruity finish.

Black with a lasting white head. Aroma of licorice, blackcurrant, and coffee. Dry, roasted and fruity flavour. Awesome mild ale jjsint (3521) - Leicester, Leicestershire, ENGLAND - FEB 19, 2017
Handpull cask from the Blue Moon, Cambridge. It’s dark brown but there is a fair bit of translucency. Loose off-white head. Some coffee notes but there’s also a notable piney hop in the aroma. Sharp bitter taste with softens into some grapey sweetness. More coffee-laden roast malt in the aftertaste. Pretty decent although lacking the balance of the best Dark Star beers. teorn88 (8066) - Rimini, ITALY - OCT 20, 2015
Backlog rating. Cask at CPK, London. It pours a dark brown color with small tan head. Aroma is roasty, with pine, earth, dark fruits and vanilla. Taste has more dry roasty notes, wood, pine cones, bitter orange peel, cocoa. Light bodied with good carbonation. Overall, nice Hermod (8417) - Vantaa, FINLAND - MAR 11, 2015
UPDATED: MAR 12, 2015 Cask @ Angleterre. Pours near black with a thick fluffy espresso head. Smooth stuff. Some woody notes, dried fruits, some roasted malt. Pleasant aroma. Flavor has dark chocolate, roastedness, light toffee notes. Lasting hoppy finish, quite hoppy. A good mild ale indeed. oh6gdx (26485) - Vasa, FINLAND - JAN 29, 2015
Cask. Deep brown colour, small off-white head. Aroma is roasted malts, some toasted and bready notes along with a bit spicy and ashy notes. Flavour is roasted malts, some ashes, rye bread, chocolate and some mild floral notes. Elements are there, but the beer remains very thin, in fact it feels even more thin than a mild ale as for the palate.
