Far from being jade coloured, this beer celebrates the beauty of the German Carafa barley malt that gives it a warm bronze colour without making it heavy or sweet. The clear palate is ideal to enjoy the full spiciness from the versatile New Zealand, Pacific Jade hops.

Handpull cask at the Flying Pig, Cambridge. Brownish amber with a sweet little burnt-sugar head. Looks like it’s in perfect condition. Bubble gum, spruce, forest floor and caramel apple scent. Sweet at first, turning surprisingly bitter. Intense bitter/sour finish. Nicely put together!

Cask at CASK. Ruddy brown colour, thin head. Nice, interesting bittersweet balance here. Fruity, spicy, bitter hop, some nice sweet malt. Drunk side by side with the Saltaire New World Red, this was less in your face and yet more complex, more fruity and less earthy.

Smithld1 (331) - Greater London, ENGLAND - SEP 14, 2015
Pint of cask. Very pleasant and inoffensive. Lovely reddy colour, persistent head with lacing. Dried berries. Sweet.

Cask Pint at Wibbas Down (JDW), Wimbledon, London in July 2012 - Deep Bronze in colour. Very Hoppy; resiny floral and spicy hops. Fruity; citrus grapefruit and orange fruits. Malty; toasty malts, caramel. Pungent hoppy fruity brew throughout. Increasingly bitter in the lingering finish. Wish I had had another pint of this. Very Decent.
