33cl bottle. Pours dark reddish brown colour with a huge most good lasting beige head. Aroma of smoked dark malt, wood, some bourbon, peat. Taste of peated dark malt, smoke, ash, some coffee, bitter roasted malt.

MelvinKalksma (1942) - NETHERLANDS - APR 11, 2017

Medium aroma of malts, caramel, wood, vanilla, chocolate, roasted malts and smoke.

Turbid/opaque ruby/black beer with a slight/medium beige head.

Starts medium sweet with malts, caramel, wood, vanilla and chocolate; ends slightly bitter and dry with roasted malts and smoke.

This beer is rather intense, complex and balanced. That whiskey it aged on surely is the most intense flavour present in this beer. Honestly the rest feels a bit thin in comparison. Great appearance and a good palate, while the aroma and taste fall somewhere in between.

pivnizub (11005) - Bochum, GERMANY - DEC 8, 2016
Bottle: Deep amber coloured with a ruby sheen, presumably clear, small lacy off-white foamy layer; moderate to solid fruity-vinous nose, roasted malt, even hints of smoke, wood and vanilla underneath, hops in the background;moderate to solid bitter-sweet nose, medium to full bodied, not really soft; lingering bitter-sweet raisiny and woody-hoppy finish. A pleasant winter-warmer...
