Bottle @ home. I’ve had this beer (and loved it) in cask several times, but not had a bottle in years. It had a much sweeter milk-chocolate nose than I was expecting, and did have a full, silky mouthfeel, but disappointingly less coffee than I remember it having. As it came into contact with the air more aroma was released, but it still didn’t give the depth of flavour I thought I’d experienced in it previously.

500ml bottle. Thick black brown with a generous tan head. Strong coffee aroma, flavour is bitter coffee with some vanilla cream sweetness.

mviljamaa (183) - Jyväskylä, FINLAND - APR 17, 2017
Pours with okay light brown foam. Color is very dark brown, but clear. Aroma has coffee as dominant aroma, then cocoa, some yeast, plum. Palate is fairly well balanced, a bit more oily than dry. Taste has cold coffee, burnt notes on top of it, a little bit of mämmi and the bitterness of hops. It’s a bit watery as a stout. The flavour could be richer and fuller. Reminds of Belhaven a bit.

WaddlingPlatypus (186) - Durham, ENGLAND - MAR 9, 2017
500ml bottle. Thick dark brown, almost black, pour with a fine mocha head. Faint clean coffee aroma with fresh aluminium. Immediate crisp coffee flavour with a touch of chocolate. Creamy mouthfeel, both flavour and aroma were somewhat faint but pleasant and light.

Bottle at home, from independent shop in Lewes. Turned out o be a very smooth coffee beer. Was incredibly malty / roasted and enjoyably drunk slowly after a meal.

Pours black with a small off white head. Aroma is filled with coffee and malts. A bit thin in the mouth but has a nice coffee flavour with hints of chocolate. Nothing stand out but a solid beer.

rostetti (385) - Oulu, FINLAND - DEC 2, 2016
Bottle. Pours dark brown with foamy tan head. Aroma and taste have a lot of coffee with some roasted malt. Bitter aftertaste. Gave what promised: a rich coffee taste. Pretty good one!
