3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Having tried this a few times late in the evening at festivals I was keen to give it a more considered tasting. The beer tastes exactly as promised, of cold coffee with perhaps a little fag ash.
The aroma, is coffee and cigarettes. The appearance an appealing coffee black. The taste.. coffee and fags.
The palate is a little thinner than you would expect from a stout, but in keeping with the notion of a coffee beer, so suitable.
The beer is a one trick pony, and I grew a little bored of it near the bottom of the bottle, but it’s a fun beer, that fulfills it brief consummately. I’d happily recommend trying it once.
500ml bottle. Pours dark brown with a beige head. Coffee and roasted malt aroma, some chocolate too. Taste is dominated by coffee, roasted malts, hint of chocolate, hops, nice bitterness. Medium body, smooth, oily texture. Very easy drinking stout. Nisse666 (7966) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - MAY 3, 2017

500ml bottle. Thick black brown with a generous tan head. Strong coffee aroma, flavour is bitter coffee with some vanilla cream sweetness. mviljamaa (189) - Jyväskylä, FINLAND - APR 17, 2017
Pours with okay light brown foam. Color is very dark brown, but clear. Aroma has coffee as dominant aroma, then cocoa, some yeast, plum. Palate is fairly well balanced, a bit more oily than dry. Taste has cold coffee, burnt notes on top of it, a little bit of mämmi and the bitterness of hops. It’s a bit watery as a stout. The flavour could be richer and fuller. Reminds of Belhaven a bit. 500ml bottle. Thick dark brown, almost black, pour with a fine mocha head. Faint clean coffee aroma with fresh aluminium. Immediate crisp coffee flavour with a touch of chocolate. Creamy mouthfeel, both flavour and aroma were somewhat faint but pleasant and light.

Bottle at home, from independent shop in Lewes. Turned out o be a very smooth coffee beer. Was incredibly malty / roasted and enjoyably drunk slowly after a meal. Steven_B (249) - East Kilbride, SCOTLAND - JAN 13, 2017
Pours black with a small off white head. Aroma is filled with coffee and malts. A bit thin in the mouth but has a nice coffee flavour with hints of chocolate. Nothing stand out but a solid beer. rostetti (385) - Oulu, FINLAND - DEC 2, 2016
