Cask & Bottle Conditioned;
Imperial Stout is a truly special beer which harks back to the days when English brewers exported strong stouts and ports to the Baltics. Brewed with a high proportion of roasted barley and target hops, this is complex beer with a big flavour. Our bottle conditioned Imperial Stout has been aged at the brewery so you may enjoy it now, although it will continue to improve for many years.

Piwo nalewa się bez piany , szczątkowa mocno wymuszana, brzydka. Kolor czarny. Aromat porterowy, ciemne słody, suszone owoce, lekko słodki, karmel. Smak rok po terminie i wali spirytem, masakra, tu juz portera mniej, gorzka czekolada, palonosć, lekki popiół, nuty estrowe, zaznaczona goryczka. Słabe z mega gryzącym spirytusowym alkoholem.

Sigmund (7390) - Tau, NORWAY - APR 11, 2017
330 ml bottle, from Ales By Mail. Vintage 2014. ABV is 10.5%. Pitch black colour, minimal tan head. Aroma of roast malts, leather, horse stable, coffee, dark chocolate, hints of molasses and oak. Very moderate but sufficient carbonation. The rich and medium sweet flavour has roast malts, vinous notes, dark dried fruits, coffee, dark chocolate, hints of oak. Warming mouthfeel. Excellent beer.

Davros IX (329) - Hertford, Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - APR 6, 2017
Keg. A overpowering flavour and aroma of alcohol that left a metallic taste in the mouth. To me the flavours were in no way integrated and the mouthfeel didn’t work. Maybe the problem was that it was an "end of evening" beer when my palate was shot to bits, so a re-rate is probably necessary.

Bottle bier huis. Black no head. Aroma is dark fruits choc liquorice taste same some mollsse nice roasty finish very boozy. Slightly thin. Decent.

Bottle from Ales by Mail - UK. Color: deep dark black beer with no carbonation and medium brown head. Smell: caramel malt, sweet and spicy notes, anise. Roasted caramel domination. Taste: full body with roasted malt, solid caramel and anise notes. Good attenuation and quiet drainable. Aftertaste: roasted malt, anise. Caramel.

Bottle. Pitch Black in colour. Roasted/burnt malts. Very fruity (dark fruits). Chocolate, coffee, brown sugar. Initially sweet. Oily. Warming alcohol. Roasted dry finish. Enjoyed this. Nice Impy Stout! (2008)

Bottle in the Salopian Bar, Shrewsbury. Deep mahogany with a thin cream head. Mild malty aroma. The taste is treacle, liquorice, spice and heavy alcohol. Both chewy and thin bodied. A little unrefined, but decent.

Bottle at The Leeky Tap, Leek. Pours a deep ruby brown colour with a thin off white head. Aroma of oak, raisin, fig, prune, some treacle, slight smoke, a little caramel, a hint of roasted malts, maybe coffee and subtle toffee. Taste of oak, raisin, fig, prune, brown sugar, some caramel, slight roasted malts, a little alcohol, a hint of smoke and subtle spicy hops. Full bodied and a slick texture. A dry, dark fruit bitterness in the finish. A really complex, fruity imperial stout with a hint of sourness and subtle smokiness. Decent.

Smell of coffee, vanilla. Black colour, tiny mid-brown head. Aroma of oak, alcohol, raisins, rum. Also faints of chocolate and coffee. Very flat carbon, oily palate, viscous texture. Very sweet. Not exactly the regular imperial stout.
