September 14, 2017 - at The Draught House (Old Street) - handpull cask. Hazy gold with a smallish bubbly off-white head. Tangy floral semi-sweet aroma and taste - more funky UK acidic bitterness than standard to balance it out, but fairly authentic to my palate - light alcohol presence and body, mild carbonation, a nice malty/floral lightly acidic non-twiggy finish; simple, a bit green. A rare treat - a best bitter in the midst of hipster hops and sours (I actually like hops and sours, of course). Franzen (692) - SWEDEN - JAN 24, 2018
Nice good breadiness and roastiness rounded of with a mellow and just enough bitterness. Holmen2 (4433) - NORWAY - JAN 19, 2018
From cask at West Riding Refreshment Rooms, Dewsbury, with JFE at The Ale Trail 19.01.18. Dark golden. Dense and peristent off-white head and lacing. Fine aroma and taste of pale malt, medium roasted malt, fine hops and and black tea. Excellent quaffability. Smooth mouthfeel. Dbcwi88 (128) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JAN 11, 2018
Darkish bitter. Malty smell. Grassy hop profile similar to Landlord bit more watery thejackpacker (804) - East Sussex, ENGLAND - OCT 22, 2017
Cask at Akurrat. Felt very nice go have a classic bitter on cask in Sweden and it looks gorgeous and tastes of home. Nothing remarkable in it but a good staple from dark star.

Cask at Beer Hunters, Pori. Nut brown color, small steady off-white head. Nutty nose with light spicey hops. Light-bodied. Flavour is also nutty malty with good woody-earthy hops in the aftertaste. Hints of chocolate but not so much sweetness in the flavor. Even hints of sourness mentioned in the previous rating. Easy but reasonably hoppy Towey1989 (3650) - Stoke On Trent, Staffordshire, ENGLAND - APR 25, 2017
Cask at The Black Lion, Cheddleton. A clear amber colour with a medium off white head. Aroma of bready malt, red berries, some hedgerow fruits and subtle spicy, earthy hops. Taste of red berries, some bready malt, subtle hedgerow fruits, a hint of sourness and slight spicy, earthy hops. Light bodied and soft carbonation. A soft, dryish, spicy and earthy hop bitterness in the finish. A simple, fruity bitter with dry, spicy, earthy hops lates on. Decent but subtley sour. Hint of Brett. Good example of the style. I prefer it to a Harveys. Pretty hard going though. Couldn’t do a session on it these days. Not strong enough. ThirstyBird (3032) - Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - FEB 7, 2017
On cask at Craft Beer Co at Limehouse station. Pours a brownish color with a tan head. The nose is earthy, a little fruity and bready. The taste is nice earthy malt with some fruit and herbal character. Light plus in body....great conditions and immensely sessionable.
