My Bottom Line:mr_h (6117) - Ayr, SCOTLAND - JUN 29, 2013
This cushy ESB’s floral hops envelop light crème brûlée allusions, as delicate apricots are greeted by bitter resins and a biscuit-y undertow.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam tops the glistening bronze.
-If you think a Bitter cannot be complex, please try this one. You might reconsider.
-The mouthfeel is suuuuper silky.
-Malts are also a tad caramel-like.
-Another engaging brew from Dark Star!

Cask, Gilded Lily Carlisle. A good brown British beer! More malty than hoppy, but well bodied, full flavoured for 4% & a nice finish with just the faintest hint of chocolate and smoke. EdKing (2682) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - APR 27, 2013
Cask in the Kings Head. Colour is rich brown, clear with a white fluffy foam head. Nose is malty, chocolatey, nutty, toffee, slight herbal hop. Taste is a brown bitter with brown sugar, chocolate, caramel, English hops, ale fruit. Style is standard but it’s a good beer.

Aroma is quite light with cocoa and nuts. Flavour is a bit odd with berries, toffee, hints of mint and nuts. Also some caramel character exists. Palate is a bit light. Decent.
