Star, Bishops Stortford. Only pub I went in to during my visit to Bishop Stortford beer festival, this thanks to an elder CAMRA member I walked to the festival with and he had heard of this place. Aroma is quite much wheat beer like (banana, mild spices as well as some citrusy notes), with also some slight earthyness. Flavour is quite fruity, wheaty and mildly earthy.

Cask at Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Hazy pale golden. Grainy nose with ripe banana. sweet and fruity. Medium bodied with rounded mouthfeel. Spruce needles and orange mixes with toffee and herbal spices. Some shampoo-like bitterness. An unusually Belgian feel to it for being British - a nice marriage of two beer cultures. madmitch76 (25568) - , Essex, ENGLAND - AUG 8, 2011

Chelmsford Beer Festival. Hazy gold beer, small suddy white head. Light semi dry palate. Sweetish malt, slightly wheaty in character. Sweetish orange, mild marmalade. Finishes semi dry with a little carbonated bite. Nice sweetish saison. Goes down easy.
Cask at CPK. Pours a lightly hazed, yellow-gold with a fine, foam head. Prominent Belgian yeast aroma, some bubblegum and clove. Medium sweet, very yeasty, some biscuits, banana. Medium in body with soft to fine carbonation. Slightly dry finish, more clove and yeast. Nice. harrisoni (19318) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - MAR 20, 2009
Cask handpull at The Evening Star in Brighton. More of a wheat beer to me than a saison, cloudy gold/orange colour with lasting thin white hed. Very refreshing though. Bit of soap like a Belgian wit on the aroma. Reasonably fruity in mouth, tangerine/orange, touch of herb/spice. Good bit of tingle on the finish. Good intense fruit and spice. Very good wit, not sure it’s a saison. FatPhil (17077) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - MAY 1, 2009

Rich golden colour. Aroma of mostly noble hops, a little wheaty,
pleasant but not big. The first impression as it hits the mouth is
that it’s almost watery, with a hint perhaps of saison spices
(yeast?), but that becomes more subdued as it warms, and more hops
and ginger show up in the taste and aroma. Hint of coriander perhaps.
Leaves a good refreshing finish of slightly biting hopes. Still a bit
watery and not a saison. Unusually, Phil didn’t share this one.
