Sweet marshmallow roast. Pretty melow, and not getting any smoke. Finish has a touch of marshmallows too. Something a bit mentholly too. An OK porter, but Dark Star can do better than this.
MSeoul dark brown with an reddish orange head and a creamy, lasting, thin lacy head. Smells of roasted malt but not so strong, dark berries, chocolate, smoke and bread. Medium to Light thin body. Tastes of caramel malt that has an nice soft roast, liquorice, and light burnt roast finish. Some nice wooden notes. Very easy to drink and nice on the palate. evergreen0199 (3631) - Northwood, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 17, 2012

Half-pint, cask served at the very right drinking temperature at the lovely Craft Beer Co in Islington. The appearance of the beer is very nice with a mahogany coloured body to a bright naked surface. Fine mixed aroma of mid-sweet malts and dried fruits. Taste follows suit with lightly smoked malts, oak and earth. Dry bittersweet finish. Medium bodied. Very tasty even though the smoked part is rather subdued (London, 26.11.2012). fonefan (52959) - VestJylland, DENMARK - NOV 18, 2012
