500ml bottle, drunk on 1 January 2007. Pale gold colour with a diminishing white head. A little lemony citrus, backed up by light biscuity malt. Restrained citrus again in the flavour. Slightly soft mouthfeel. I generally think these golden ales don’t bottle too well. This does better than most but still lacks the vibrant, fresh hop character found in similar Dark Star cask ales. A respectable, easy-drinking number but a bit short of pizzazz.
