A very pleasant drink. Grapefruit and orange, with a honey aftertaste.
A summery drink as per description. rauchbier (3891) - Isle Of Beer, Lincolnshire, ENGLAND - DEC 23, 2004
Bottle, from Waitrose in Lincoln. Gold, lasting white head and good condition. Excellent hoppy aroma with hints of elderflower and grapefruits. Fruity in the mouth with more hops and grapefruit but less intense than the nose. Quite dry and sharp in the finish with a lingering hoppy bitterness.

Bottle picked up at SH Jones Bicester. Pours pale golden in colour, aroma is lemony and hoppy.Flavour is citric but also hoppy again and very, very nice a real summer beer. Nice bitterness and overall a great very flavoursome beer that slipped down a treat. larsga (7539) - Oslo, NORWAY - JUN 13, 2007
Small white head. Yellow body with some carbonation. Aroma of tea, malt, and crackers, kind of sweetish, beautifully balanced, with fruity notes. Taste is deep malty tea and caramel with fruity, wooden, resiny notes. Crisp, dry edge to the beer, which becomes more dominant in the aftertaste. Very nice. An excellent session beer, but still interesting. (0.5l bottle.)

Orange golden colour and a slight haze. No yeast in the bottle though. Thick creamy white head that clings to the glass. Crisp hop aroma. Notes of flowers, but very mellow. Caramel and soft maltiness. Light crisp hop flavours with a little bitterness. Medium-bodied. Rich maltiness balanced by the hops in a very nice way that makes the beer very drinkable. Very refreshing. thebeertourist (5189) - Oslo, NORWAY - MAY 27, 2008
Bottle. Pours clear pale golden with a big very white head. Complex hoppy nose- citrus is the main impression, grapefruit, lime and oranges. Malty flavours initially, countered by good bitterness.Citrus prevails also in the mouth. Dry finish. Quite fluffy texture. Way above average golden ale. My first Dark Star experience, found at the LCBO in a 500ml brown bottle. Pours a clean golden colour with a frothy white head, decent retention and soapy lace. Aromas of sweet fruits (oranges, peaches) mixed with grain and honey. The taste is not as sweet, thankful. Quite mild actually, with a nice blend of biscuit malt and hops. Not too bitter and not long lasting. Just refreshing, but not a swill. A pretty good overall well-brewed golden ale. Boutip (6374) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - JUL 11, 2011
Bottle: Poured a bright golden color ale with a large foamy head with OK retention and some light lacing. Aroma of fresh citrusy hops is very enticing with light floral and semi-sweet malt. Taste is also an interesting mix between some citrusy notes with a very light bitterness and loads of floral undertones; semi-sweet malt base is well incorporated in the mix. Body is average with good carbonation. Well brewed and interesting beer in a style that doesn’t necessarily produces it lots of complex beer. Bottle. Great golden beer. Lovely and fresh with a lovely balance between the floral and the bitter hops. Nice bit of malt, a few crumbs of biscuit and a glob of toffee in there as well. Light, refreshing with a dry finish. Beer garden, ahoy!
