Poured up at GABF 2012 with a nice mahogany looking body that supports a sort of mocha colored head that has some tan swirls to it and it leaves behind a little bit of lacing too. Nice looking brew. The aroma seems kind of Abbey Dubbel like initially and comes across pleasing with ripe brown sugar covered plum like sweet fruity esters, and what seems like a touch of coriander and clove and then some earthy chocolate notes in the background. Wow, ok, the taste is really nice. It starts off with dark roasted malts and then picks up a rich near velvety dark chocolate note and it quickly rolls into more and more chili pepper heat midway and into the finish. Fantastic experience on the first sip. I hope the sips to follow can maintain . . . maintain damn you! Oh it does, nice. Into the after taste it leaves a modest chili pepper burn and warming that certainly isn’t too much but sure lets you know it’s there. Really nice brew. Well done!

UPDATED: SEP 3, 2015 Sourish, yeasty aroma. Deep root beer black-brown, huge head initially. Sweet, roast isn’t apparent. Peppers give it a dry, mild, slow burn. A bit of a mish-mash. On tap, Momos.

chinchill (4989) - South Carolina, USA - AUG 7, 2015
On tap at Engine 15 in JAX, Florida. Appealing and distinct aroma of moderate intensity. Medium body with medium carbonation. Loaded with dark roasted malts, this has a very noticeable peppery component but only mild heat. Cocoa nibs join in along with other spicy notes. Mild bitterness with some sweetness. Slight smokiness.

DocJitsu (1974) - Pensacola, Florida, USA - AUG 3, 2015
Pours a chestnut brown with an oatmeal colored head. Good head retention. A little nutty and subdued cherry on the nose. Moderately thick mouthfeel. A little peppery on the back of the throat. Not a huge change from the aromas to the flavor. I get a lot of chocolate covered dried raspberry.

Sample at growler country. Dark brown with a brown head. Light spice in the aroma. Bigger spice including some pepper heat in the flavor. Interesting.

Tallahassee, Fl. - Sidecar Gastropub - on tap. Dark brown murky pour, light off-white head. Peanut butter, a bit of topsoil in the aroma. Flavor has a unique spice must be Charapa, some nutty notes, a bit of light chocolate. Chewy mouthfeel. Decent.

Draft... Pours clear and black with no head. The aroma unveils faint roastines and rooty herbal notes with a hint of cocoa. Medium-bodied with tickling carbonation. The flavor is fairly bland, but heats the mouth with chili spiciness. Some mild acidity and lingering chili warmth in the finish.

Leighton (21232) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 22, 2015
Draft at Six Ten. Pours clear amber-brown with a creamy white head. Toasty brown bread in the aroma, suggestions of dried fruits. Medium sweet flavor with lightly sugary brown bread, light chocolate, slight pepper spice. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Finishes with cleansing pepper heat, more toasted brown bread, light cocoa, some leafy hops. The pepper heat is just enough. I like it.

djd07 (14469) - Houston, Texas, USA - FEB 19, 2015
On tap at Six Ten. Pours a cloudy amber with large creamy white head that lasts. The aroma is pepper and orange peel. Thin mouth with strong chili pepper, light citrus and lingering heat.
