Bufordbrewer (47) - Georgia, USA - MAY 7, 2014
Poured from a growler purchased at the brewery. Good 1/2 inch head, light brown with moderate lacing. Dark, deep brown as you would expect from a stout, with a deep cherry hue when held to the sunlight. Rich malt, caramel, roasty, with a little hops bitter that does not linger. A little less silkiness than I would expect from an oatmeal stout, but it is indeed a very heart and refreshing brew. Good malt/hops balance. Good work. Draft sample at brewpub. Poured a dark brown color with an average frothy brown head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate toasted dark chocolate malt aroma. Medium to abundant body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy dark toasted sweet flavor with a medium to heavy sweet finish of moderate to long duration. Smooth brew, my expectations where met.
