Lightly cloudy wheat colored pour, whispy white head w/ light lacing. Smells funny.. odd hop aroma some odd misplaced funk. average palate. Odd czech hop easy mellow taste some sweet breads.. pretty solid taste. 1FastSTi (3358) - Glendale, Wisconsin, USA - JAN 6, 2008
Thanks skyview for sharing this growler. The beer pours to a hazy pale yellow straw body with a white head. The aroma is buttered biscuits, noble Czech saaz hops. The flavor is simple buttered biscuits, saaz hops. The beer has an average palate but oddly didn’t make me think Pilsener. phishpond417 (2088) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - AUG 3, 2009
I find myself enjoying this style more and more, ecspecially when it’s a well made pils. Clear golden, thin white top. Grain and slight corn on the nose- this time thta doesn’t turn me off. Taste has the grassiness and firm astringent hop character that i expected. But well balanced, not too grainy. Just right. Slightly dry. esjaygee (3902) - Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA - OCT 19, 2011
On tap at Das Bierhaus. Straw yellow pour that’s a touch hazy with a white head. Aroma of noble and grassy hops, grains and pale malt. Taste of sweet malt, burnt match, noble hops and finishes up a touch bitter. BVery (11458) - Plymouth, Minnesota, USA - NOV 18, 2011
UPDATED: DEC 28, 2013 Tap at Das Bierhaus - renamed to Chill Pils. Has this on Nov. 18, 2011. Clear light gold pour with minimal head. Carbonation bubbles present. Light and grainy, with a touch of hops. A little butter in the taste as well.

Thanks to Bob for bringing the large, bad-ass growler! Poured hazy paler golden with a short cap of white head. The aroma picked up rather odd pineappley notes upfront along with some butter and lemon rind afterward.. nothing in here really did it for me. The flavor had more pineapple and some bready pils sweetness accented by a light herbal bitterness.. a tad sour at the back-end. Lighter-bodied with lower carbonation.. decent balance.. this was a day-old growler, but I’m guessing that it’s better on tap. BBB63 (6567) - La Porte, Indiana, USA - DEC 17, 2007
Cheesehead YeAH 2007, thanks Bob for the growler: Golden hue with a fizzy fading head and some spotty lace. The aroma has notes of buttered bread, floral hops, mineral, and a hint of lemon zest. The taste is slightly bread and syrupy sweet with overwhelmed pils herbal hops somewhere in there. The mouth feel is flat and not refreshing like the style should be. Something just is not right with this beer, needs rerate.
