Daves BrewFarm Select Golden Lager - Canned

RATINGS: 52   WEIGHTED AVG: 2.87/5   EST. CALORIES: 165   ABV: 5.5%
An easy-drinkin’, golden all-malt lager. Brewed with six-row and specialty malts and hopped with Cluster and Perele to give it a smooth crisp flavor, with just a hint of malt sweetness. Select Golden Lager is brewed at both Steven Point Brewery and Dave’s BrewFarm locations.

Can from tyler: pours beautiful golden color crystal clear with a large white head that lasts. Aroma is very nice full of sweetness from the pilsen malt, very clean great hop aroma for style, get some honey like aroma also. Slight crisp fruit but not yeast dirived, maybe hops. Flabor is full and clean with a slight sweetness, good hop flavor bit could use more bittering. Very easy to drink and would love a case. Needs to be a lottle dryer in finish.

Clear golden color with a small off-white head. Hints of grain and generic hops, much akin to a light malt liquor. Light sweetness, with grain and mild caramel. Bits of herbal, to earthy hops. Just another stronger, industrial tasting lager. 3/10

Can from a trade with someone at some point in time. It’s been in my beer fridge for a long time so this probably won’t go well for me. Pours a somewhat clear gold with a large frothy white head. Sweet old grain right away, even while pouring from the can. A touch of paper and sweetness. On the thin side of medium bodied, grainy but overall just empty. There’s really nothing there at first. Drinkable I guess, but not anything I really want to drink. A touch of spicy bitterness into the finish. Dumped this and then had a Sierra Nevada Beer Camp beer instead.

My last can, damn I’m going to miss this stuff. Normally I’d be drinking it straight from the can but today I pour. Color is a bright golden with a small white head. Aroma of faint hops, honey, slight fruits, and malt. Taste is clean, grains, honey, nice hop presence, and sweet bready malts. Clean and refreshing.

12oz can from Atom, thanks Adam! Pours a clear, yellow-gold colored body with a finger-width, fizzy, off-white head that dissipates quickly and leaves a light lacing. Aroma has some thin pear and melon fruits with a grainy, lightly sweetened, corny malt backing. Flavor is similar. Lightly sweetened, grainy, corny malts with a bit of a melon fruit and a touch of grass. Finishes mostly dry with a light, corny sweetness and a very light, grainy and grassy bitterness. Short aftertaste following a light body and a moderate carbonation. Overall, not the worst pale lager, but certainly pretty boring. Corny, grainy, lightly sweetened, and somewhat fruity. Eh...

Has light scents of malt and caramel. Taste is very light and light body, flavors of caramel, nice and crisp. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Can into Boulevard tulip. Looks like a pale lager, generous head. Smells really yeasty, not hollow like most pale lagers. Taste is clean, drinkable, pretty good for the style, even a hint of hops. Palate is a bit flat if I’m honest, but overall, very good pale lager.

Live rate. An overweight, black cat is staring at me. The anger in her eyes is palpable. I’m drinking this straight from the can, as one should when their water has been turned off after not paying the bill for five months. The fat, black cat is still staring at me. I can feel her anger. Maybe she wants to be fed? Thankfully a thin pane of glass stands between her and I, and makes me feel safe from harm. As for the beer, it is damn good. If you want a great pale lager I can’t recommend this more. #shouldhavetickedthis #rateresponsibly

Can. Wow - outstanding for a pale lager. Dave, you gotta educate the big boys on how this is done. Husky grain and cereal notes, plus a bit of honey sweetness.

Bottle shared by shigadeyo. Pours a hazy golden color with a small white head. The aroma is sweet malts, grainy, bready, with just a splash of honey; pretty much what I would expect from a pale lager. The flavor is sweet malty, grainy, mild grassy notes with a hint of bitterness at the back. This turned out to be not as bad as I originally expected.

Poured from the can to a Leffe chalice, how fitting. Pours a nice looking honey gold with a thin white cap that falls off quickly. Smells of lightly toasted grains, sweet bread, just enough hops to provide balance. All these notes carry through to the taste - refreshing, drinkable, spot on.
