Thanks to the brewer for bringing some over to try. Great stout. Chocolate and roasty flavors. Very nice. Dark and creamy. Smooth. good. mike5326 (1754) - virginia beach, Virginia, USA - JUN 22, 2014
Poured from a tap. Dark brown color, medium creamy off white head. Not much of an aroma. Medium body with a light bitter peppery malt flavor and a light finish.

A - Pours a bark brown-black color with a big two fingers of thick brownish head. The head hangs around forever, finally reducing down to a still sizeable layer leaving lots of lace on the glass in the process.
S - Aroma is a mix of lots of roasted sweet caramel malts and some oats. There is also a touch of coffee and caramel in the background.
T - Starts off with some sweet roasted caramel malt flavor with some oats in the background. Through the middle some sweet milk flavor and some chocolate flavors come through. The finish is a mix of roasted caramel and coffee flavors that linger nicely.
M - Medium bodied with moderate-low carbonation. Feels super smooth and creamy. Finish is really creamy and roasty with some nice sweet notes.
D - Very drinkable. The nitro tap really creates an outstanding looking beer here. The flavors are all really nicely balanced and the beer feels really great. williamherbert (1544) - Syracuse, New York, USA - NOV 13, 2010
Roasted malts; leathery taste. Soft caramel notes in flavor and even more in the aroma. Silky feel, velvety. Soft tobacco notes. A hella dry beer with a nice soft finish. MaiBockAddict (1497) - Good Beer Bar Deprived, New Jersey, USA - APR 25, 2004
Draft, Tap NY. Thanks to the brewer for bringing over a full cup to taste. Found this smooth, dark, and creamy. Chocolate and roast dominate. Very easy to drink.

This one looks like an appetizing stout, with a dark brown body, and a fluffy white head. Great semi-sweet chocolate aroma, with hints of vanilla. Chewy mouthfeel, and a little bit of sweetness in the flavor is a great tease. Very creamy. gws57 (1276) - Saint Charles, Illinois, USA - AUG 9, 2005
Had this one on draught in Glens Falls, New York. Deep black, nearly opaque color with a thick, brown head, nose of coffee, very complex taste with notes of apricot, bitter chocolate, and amaretto with a very soft finish. An outstanding sweet stout. Almost black, little hazy, off-white dense head. Roasted malt with some sweetness in the nose. Roasty and burnt, more robust than their porter. Hint of oiliness in palate. Miguel (1181) - Saint-Ours, Quebec, CANADA - MAY 9, 2005
Malts rôtis, café, alcool, fruits des champs. Longue en bouche avec une mousse crémeuse. J’ai bien aimé. Boliv (1150) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 29, 2011
Growler. Pours dark red, dark brown in the glass, with a small tan head. Aromas of coffee, raisin, chocolate and some cherry, and mildly tart fruit. The flavor is slightly bitter cocoa and earthy bitterness, sweet chocolate, and mocha. Creamy, with low carbonation and a dry finish. Pretty good.
