Black body with a long-lasting medium tan head. Roasted nose. Taste has a lot of roasted grainy malts followed by a medium amount grassy hops and a light citric touch. Not much to report in terms of chocolate/coffee/fruity flavours. The floury yeast and the roastiness blend together and leave a somewhat dry impression. Pleasant average generic brewpub stout. Incidentally the brewpub also makes a truly amazing stout-cheddar soup. The cheese probably has most to do with it. beerbuzzmontreal (3487) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - NOV 1, 2007
Pours a black color with brown highlights and a thin, light brown head. Average aroma and flavor of chocolate and roasted malt. The body is light to medium with soft carbonation. SB (334) - Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 3, 2006
Poured dark. Brown head, bubbly and fast dissipating. Aroma of chocolate, caramel, and malt. Flavor of chocolate milk, with a sweet caramel center, but the end tasted like metal. Thin bodied. Again, I simply left it in the growler to long. I could sense a fantastic beer, so I will have to somehow acquire more of this. jcwattsrugger (12507) - Florida and, New Jersey, USA - AUG 23, 2006
on tap-pours a tan head with black color. Aroma is dark malt. Taste is dark malt, somewhat sweet-caramel, oatmeal. Medium body. mike5326 (1773) - virginia beach, Virginia, USA - JUN 22, 2014
Poured from a tap. Dark brown color, medium creamy off white head. Not much of an aroma. Medium body with a light bitter peppery malt flavor and a light finish.
