A 90s favorite that seemed to have taken the rarest of the back-seats in recent years, Affordable 3.5% beer meaning you dont risk a nasty hangover the following day, No longer do they sell in the 500ml cans but just the standard 12x 330ml boxes (av. $14 doz.) heyden (138) - Auckland, NEW ZEALAND - JAN 22, 2015
Dull and foamy and all around boring. But at least it doesnt have the nasty taste that accompanies most mainstream beers kiwianer (3428) - Otorohanga, NEW ZEALAND - JUL 26, 2014
It smells sweet, strange. The taste is watery, bit foamy, sweet. Boring and almost tasteless. mkel07 (6549) - Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - JUL 7, 2014
330ml can from The Beer Cellar. Rating from April 2013. Basic grain aroma, beer is thin and watery and lacks flavour. Jimthechap (2064) - Christchurch, NEW ZEALAND - SEP 6, 2012
Not a beer I recall as being significantly bitter oddly enough. Same colour as mainstream draught in New Zealand, same flavour. Colourful packaging and sponsorship of a rugby league team made this popular for a while. I’m not I’ve seen it for a while. Anyway, since when was 3.5% abv full strength beer?

Didn’t realise 3.5% was considered to be "full strength". Sweet cardboard nose, and pours a dark amber. For the price this beer is better than a lot of others out there, but definitely a working mans beer. Baz7778 (58) - SCOTLAND - FEB 23, 2012
It’s a bitter version of export which makes it slightly better or bitter. Also rarely avalible now

Can. I recently rated Southern Draught (another NZ dark lager) and said that "among its peers, not bad". Well, this beer is one of its peers, and it actually makes me think I may have UNDER-RATED Southern Draught! There isn’t any of the toastiness that made SD somewhat palatable. Instead there is a weak caramel and apple flavour, marred by a slightly stinky wet-dishragginess. This is truly poor by any standard. Bottled. A dark golden beer with a lazing beige head. The aroma is sweet with notes of malt and caramel, while the flavor is sweet and mainly malty with a bitter finish. The body is thin. Thanks Papsoe for sharing. KimJohansen (10498) - Frederiksberg C, DENMARK - SEP 7, 2008
Clear golden with medium off white head. Sweet malty aroma with fruity and caramel notes. Flavor is fruity with caramel notes.
