3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tap. Poured an clear yellow color with a large frothy white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate banana and clove aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Soft drinkable beer.
Draft in a sampler at the brewpub. Pours a hazy pale gold with a finger of white head that leaves lace in the glass. Aroma of banana, clove, wheat, lemon citrus, and dough. The flavor is mostly the same, but has more lemon, along with sweet malts and sugary dough. Light-medium bodied, with moderate carbonation and a soft, doughy mouthfeel. Pretty nice hefe. b3shine (9072) - Indiana, USA - JAN 25, 2014
Draft to taster. Looks good for the style; a hazy gold with white lacing. Smells solid; hefe yeast with notes of clove and citrus and a kiss of hops. Tastes like it smells with some nicely balanced sweetness. Nice and smooth on the palate. Enjoyable. udfan07 (71) - Dayton, Ohio, USA - JUN 24, 2013
Tastes of bananas and cloves. Really great representation of a hefeweizen. One of my favorite beers from DBC. I drink it every time I am there if it is on tap. Recommend highly BelgianBeerGal (4138) - Panama City, Florida, USA - JUN 21, 2012
Draft sample at the brewery. Pretty true to form overall. Appearnace was as expected but with a small head; tough to tell since it might have just been the smaller tasting glass contributing. Nice aroma of banana, cloves and just a hint of spice. Thicker than expected mouthfeel. Flavor continues with the banana and clove notes with a wheaty finish. Pretty nice and enjoyable on a hot day outside.
