Tap at Birreria Paradiso. Reddish black body, steady beige head. a really balanced pumpkin porter, very drinkable. Not so forward in the pumpkin, lots of chocolate. Mellow bitter coffee notes complement the pumpkin. Really well executed. GT (10002) - San Diego, California, USA - OCT 18, 2012
Tap at P St Whole Foods. Pours full haze deep maroon. Medium creamy beige head. Nose is pumpkin spice, lemon, nutmeg, sharp tea flavors, green olives. Taste is soapy, bitter, minerally, some freezer vegetables, candy corn. Palate is soapy, tangy. A bit odd. Elwood (3336) - Leesburg, Virginia, USA - MAR 5, 2012
Serving: Draft at Fireworks Leesburg. Cloudy brown pour with a thin tan head. The nose is pumpkin, light molasses, earth and a good bit of roasted malt. The flavor seems to emphasize the gourd up front with dark caramel, light molasses and finishes with a slight earthy bitterness. Medium bodied. Pretty solid. lamas (1651) - Washington DC, USA - FEB 25, 2012
Growler straight from the brewery. A murky deep mahogany pour with a smallish creamy mocha head. A lovely autumnal aroma. Nutmeg, cinnamon, allspice, pumpkin pie, coffee, cola, and caramel maltiness dominate. Medium-bodied and pretty smooth on the way down. Very light caramel upfront in the taste. Some bitter dark chocolate and cocoa powder follows. Cola in the middle. Finishes with some roasty black coffee bitterness. A tad dry. A faint smokiness, some raw squash, and lots of pumpkin pie spice throughout. Tasty stuff! radagast83 (8299) - Arlington, Virginia, USA - FEB 13, 2012
Draft at Churchkey. 99.9% certain this is the DC Brau version. Poured a near-pitch black color with a off-white (tan/medium-brown) head. Aroma was creamy sweet notes - I’d say a tad latic, with notes of squash/pumpkin. Roasted malts, creamy bitter-sweet chocolates.

Very small tan head into a black beer with ruby tinges. Smell is very nice, buttered pumpkin, cinnamon/spice cake, vanilla. Slight booziness. Taste is lots of woodiness and vanilla. Burnt wood reminds me of coffee. Much drier than smell, and a little booze on the tongue. Very nice. Drake (14057) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - DEC 20, 2011

Draft. Dark brown with a decent tan head. Little retention/lace. Aroma of light roast, vanilla, pumpkin spice, medicinal notes. Taste is somewhat sweet, pumpkin spice, milk chocolate. Draft at Churchkey; both versions were available. Extremely dark brown pour with a small tan head. Nose and flavor hold decent creamy lactic sweetness and roasted malt, but also an astringent acidic ethanol presence and not much pumpkin. Bummer. argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - NOV 15, 2011
