UPDATED: MAR 8, 2013 Growler shared by Travlr. Thanks Gene. The beer is dark cola brown with a thin base head. Aroma brings roast, hops, pine. Smells fantastic. Great flavor. Well balanced and really enjoyable. Pine, hops, malt body. Very tasty.

Growler straight from the brewery. A murky cola brown/maroon pour with a thick & creamy sandy head. The aroma is quite nutty and full of rich bready malts, toffee, caramel, and hints of chocolate. Goes down medium to full-bodied. The taste is as equally rich as the aroma - lots of bready maltiness, toffee, and caramel upfront. A mildly bitter finish. Some nuttiness the whole way through. Earthy. Roasty. A tad spicy. A brown ale done right! Travlr (25863) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - MAR 3, 2013
Draft at the source. Cloudy dark maroon color, large fluffy brown head with decent retention and solid lacing. Aroma of slightly funky cocoa, coffee grounds. Taste is roasty yet creamy dark milk chocolate and caffe macchiato. Tasty. ContemplateBeer (2089) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - JUN 11, 2013
Half at Nanny O’ Briens, DC. Aroma of cocoa, pepper, nuts, orange jam and resin. Appearance is very dark brown with sticky tan head. Flavor of powdery cocoa, nuts and light/moderate resiny hop notes. Palate is medium, sticky and soft. A good and interesting Brown Ale. tcane7 (1674) - Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 17, 2013
Draft at the brewery. Pours a murky deep brown with beige head and lacing. Roasted malt and chocolate. Tastes and looks like a porter.

Growler, thanks Travlr. Large beige head atop black-brown body. Aroma is moderately sweet, orange, some spicy, raisin. Taste is moderately sweet, raisin, brown sugar, orange, earthy, some spicy. Medium body. radagast83 (8339) - Arlington, Virginia, USA - MAR 6, 2013
From growler provided by Travlr, Thanks Gene! Poured a dark brown color with a small tan head. Aroma is a bit funky - wasn’t sure about this one, However, I enjoyed the flavor quite a bit more. Notes of Belgian sugars, sweet malts. This one had a sweet finish to this particular one. nimbleprop (8723) - SouthWest, Washington, Washington DC, USA - MAR 9, 2013
Couple samples at the brewery, pours a translucent brown with some creamy, off white head. Nose is mild, malt, cracker, a little sugar, slightly floral, slight citrus. Nose is a little all over the place. Flavor is very crackery, malt, a little coffee, toast, some citrus pith. Dry finish. I missed the nuances of their Belgian house strain. Almost a porter, beyond a brown ale. craftycarl21 (2339) - Seattle, Washington, USA - MAR 18, 2013
Growler thanks to travlr. Rich brown pour. Nose and flavor hold vanilla, caramel, some nectar and citrus fruit hop character, roasty bite. Struck me as sort of brown IPAish. All right. devman171 (1221) - Annapolis, Maryland, USA - MAY 11, 2013
UPDATED: MAY 12, 2013 Tap at the brewery, light roast aroma and roast with alcohol finish.. Not the best
