COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
“Yonder Cities" is a collaborative beer between DC Brau and Union Brewing of Baltimore. This Farmhouse IPA is quite the standout with its beautiful balance of malt, hops and yeast. Jeff and Kevin worked hard to craft a beer with a spicy yeast character and a bright vivid hop profile. Simcoe and and Citra hops bring white grapefruit, juicy nectarine and zesty lemon peel to the nose and palate while the proprietary saison yeast balances peppery earth tones with a crisp tart finish. There are two version of this beer. One brewed at Union and one brewed at DC Brau. The only difference being base malts. We used Pilsner Malt and Union used 2 row.

Hazy golden, small white head. Complex intense nose of citrus, earthy, fruity, phenolic, spicy aroma. Same in taste. Great aromacocktail with dry saison finish. Enough body to balance it. Great job.

Fruity body with a sour backbone and a bit of guava. More drinkable than most saisons.

On tap at Gillys Fine Wine and Craft Beer in Rockville, MD. This is the version that was brewed at Union Craft (rather than at DC Brau). Clear, golden yellow with a thin off-white head and good lacing. Aroma of lemony citrus, peppery spice, pineapple and tropical fruit. Taste of lemony citrus, pineapple, bitter herbal hops, tropical fruit and pale malt. Medium/full body and medium carbonation. I'm not particularly fond of the hop profile on this beer. It just doesn't blend right for me. That said, this is still a right decent beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: APR 17, 2017 Lots of fresh, sweet hops here like the first jump of a baby chicken. Good florals too. Good balance and well rounded. Golden pour with decent head. Bittersweet finish with tang. Tap at Jack Rose.

Draft at Jack Rose Dining Saloon for CBC 2017. Poured a hazy yellow-orange color with a fluffy white head. Aroma was toasted malts, roasted character, light citrus, some sweet grains. Grape, citrus, grain notes are pleasant. Really nice funky barnhouse notes that come through are pleasant, with a nice hop, lemon peel notes. Light tartness comes through. Finally after so many years I’ve had this one.

Poured from a can that was canned 3 days ago. Pours cloudy golden with a white head. Aroma is tropical fruit with peppery yeast. Flavor is pineapple, dank hops, and a spicy, peppery, Belgian yeast finish.

2.6
Foxbush (2088) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - AUG 25, 2013
Draft at Capital Ale House Innsbrook This was confusing. CAH said it was a Farmhouse IPA. It looked and tasted more like a Belgian Ale. The ale had a white foamy head with a hazy lemon yellow color. The ale had bitterness that was felt in the back of the mouth. Carbonation was average on a light body. Finish had the typical belgian finish of herbal hops. Not the IPA I was hoping for.
